OBJECTIVES

To increase the reach of farm power so as to enhance the performance of farming operations at appropriate time and increasing the income of farmers. Precise operation and economic input use and savings in cost.  

DETAILS OF WORKS

Providing subsidy assistance to Farmers for the purchase of Agricultural Machinery and Implements such as Power Tiller, Paddy Transplanter, Rotavator, Seed Drill, Zero Till Seed cum Fertilizer Drill, Seed cum Fertilizer Drill, Bund Former – Tractor Operated and Power Tiller Operated, Straw Baler – Tractor Operated, Power Weeder for Garden land and Wet land walk behind type including Brush Cutter, Paddy Power weeder, Chaff Cutter and Power Sprayer.  

BENEFITS OFFERED (SUBSIDY)

Providing subsidy assistance to farmers for the purchase of Agricultural Machinery and Implements with 40% subsidy or the eligible subsidy prescribed by the Government whichever is less for other beneficiary farmers and 50% subsidy or the eligible subsidy prescribed by the Government, whichever is less for farmers under Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Small, Marginal and Women farmers. ( Annexure–I ) Farmers can select any make and model of agricultural machinery and implements according to their choice from the agricultural machinery manufacturing firms approved and empanelled by the Agricultural Engineering Department.  

ELIGIBILITY

All Farmers on a first come first served basis and payment in total to be made upfront.  

TIME-LIMIT FOR IMPLEMENTATION

Programme will be implemented within the financial year.

Scope of Farm Mechanization:

  As in the rest of India, there has been a steady shift from animal power to electro-mechanical sources of power in Tamil Nadu although the rate of change has been slower than that of the leading agricultural States. The availability of power is estimated at 0.78 kW/ha. Out of this about 90% comes from tractors, engines and motors.

Government Schemes

 

Scheme 1:

Scheme 2:

  Particulars - Power Tiller Qty - 551 Price/Unit - 1.16 Proposed Subsidy - 25% Cost - 159.79

Scheme 3:

  Project Area - All Districts (Except Chennai) Details of Works - Subsidy assistance is provided to farmers for procuring Agricultural Machinery and implements such as Tractors, Power Tillers, Self propelled Paddy Transplanters, Self propelled paddy reapers, Rotavator, Cultivator, Disc Plough, Chisel Plough etc., Benefits offered (Subsidy) - 25% of the cost of machinery / implements or the ceiling limit prescribed by Government of India for each machinery / implement, whichever is less. Eligibility - All farmers Time-limit for Implementation - Programme will be completed within the financial year.

Scheme 4:

  Name of Scheme - National Agriculture Development Programme (NADP) Project Area - All Districts (except Chennai) Component - Agricultural Mechanisation - a) Introduction of newly developed agricultural1 machinery / implements b) Popularising conventional machinery / implements. Benefits offered (Subsidy) - 50% subsidy assistance is provided to farmers for purchasing (Subsidy) newly developed agricultural machinery/ implements such as mini combine harvester, multi crop thrasher, paddy transplanter , post hole digger etc., and 25% subsidy assistance or the ceiling limit prescribed by the Government of India whichever is less, is provided to farmers for purchasing conventional machinery / implements such as power tiller, rotavator, cultivator, offset disc harrow, disc plough etc.,The dry land development works are taken up with 90% grant and 10% farmers’ contribution. Eligibility - All farmers Time-limit for Implementation - Works will be completed within the financial year. Hiring Charges for Tractor - Rs.265 Tractor mounted Combine Harvester - Rs.780 The Agriculture Engineering Department has sanctioned Rs. 24.75 lakh as subsidy to farmers of the district for purchasing tractors. This would be a big relief to farmers since they were facing acute shortage of labours. Collector S. Palanisamy said that a subsidy of Rs. 1 lakh each for purchasing six tractors with 20 horsepower capacity would be provided to farmers falling under Adi Dravidar category. Similarly, for purchasing 14 farm tractors up to 70 horsepower capacity, a subsidy of Rs. 1.25 lakh would be provided to 14 beneficiaries belonging to Adi Dravidar community. From a farmer falling under general category, a subsidy of Rs. 1.25 lakh would be provided.

Project Scope

  Tractor, power tiller, automatic rice seedling planting machine, automatic machine, and various crop katirar machine, seed and equipment, rice harvester machine, plate cutting tool, sugarcane trash particle tool, straw-aid kits and tractor and power tiller operated tools, pest Pharmacies sprayers and other agricultural machinery and equipment in order to use the subsidy for farmers to buy.
