Yamaha Motor India has finally launched its 110cc commuter motorcycle named as Saluto RX which uses a completely new chassis lighter than rivals. This vehicle is quite suited for the rural youth in India under the age group of 30 years. Packed with excellent features for its price mentioned above, the new Saluto RX would be a tough competitor to its rivals like TVS Victor, Honda Livo, Hero Passion Pro and so on.

The new Saluto RX weighs very less compared to other bikes having 98kg which is 22kg lighter and the weight has been reduced in engine, wheels and frame. It has been designed with an excellent exterior dimensions adding more style to the vehicle.

Design and Style

The Saluto RX just brings back the iconic RX moniker on a Yamaha motorcycle. Actually the new bike looks really super with its styling appearance packed with excellent features. It has an easy to read speedometer and its instrument cluster comes with a simple, easy to read analog speedometer. It features a bright headlight with stylish rear view mirrors. Next to that, the vehicle has a decent fuel tank which is enclosed by plastic resin covers on both left and right as well as in front of the fuel tank filler cap. These covers give a modern shape to the fuel tank which would not be feasible with parts formed from steel. The cutting line technology running through the center of the left and right covers made independent from the shape of the side cover highlighting the presence of the engine. The fuel tank capacity of the Yamaha Saluto RX is found to be around 7.2 litre. Moving to the seating arrangements, the bike gets an extra long seat for comfortable ride. This gives an excellent riding position even for the people with larger physiques. This long seat has lot of cushioning thickness space for better comfort to both rider and pillion rider. Its grab bar allows good grip regardless of hand replacement. The Saluto RX is well fitted with larger tube tyres enhancing the road performance.

Yamaha Saluto RX Engine Details

Yamaha Saluto RX is powered by a 110cc, four stroke, single cylinder, air cooled two valve engine churning out the maximum power of about 7.39BHP at 7000RPM and maximum torque of 8.50NM at 4500RPM mated to a four speed constant mesh gearbox. It sports a Yamaha’s Blue Core technology which is often seen on larger bikes. The bore and stroke is found to be 50mm and 56.2mm which helps to increase the power and torque output. Yamaha Saluto RX is not only compact and lightweight but also it allows greater freedom for mass centralization and chassis design enhancing the performance and riding character.

Fuel Efficiency of Yamaha Saluto RX

Packed with a Blue Core technology, the new Saluto RX is quite good at mileage. Its light weight factor enhances the fuel efficiency of the new bike. So, Saluto RX delivers an attractive mileage of around 82kmpl.

Yamaha Saluto RX Braking and Handling

Yamaha Saluto RX comes with a decent braking and handling system in which both front and rear wheels are fitted with a 130mm mechanical leading trailing drum brakes. Handling duties are performed by the combination of telescopic fork suspension at the front and swing arm at the rear. This suspension has model specific settings which are not only for good comfort but also helps to prevent bottoming out even riding on poor roads. The wheel could travel for 120mm at the front and 100mm at the rear and it is allowed for greater usability for carrying loads and the like.

Wheels and Tyres

Yamaha Saluto RX is offered with a tube type tire of size 2.75-17 41P at the front wheel and 3.00-17 50P at the rear wheels. This combination of wheels and tyres improves the road performance.
