Fazer 2.0 Vs Old Fazer Yamaha Fazer looks simple,yet with its stylish traits it stand still in the hearts of many. Yamaha has two variants Fazer and Fazer FI. The main difference between the two is about the engine. Fazer FI has the fuel-injected option whereas it is absent in case of Fazer. With the Fazer only the electric power option is available whereas with the Fazer FI, both electric and kick start options are available. The Yamaha Fazer price at Rs.78,385/- ex showroom New Delhi.Available Yamaha Fazer color options include Steak Red, Getaway Blue, Rising Red and Milestone Black. This is the only bike that is being provided with semi-faired under Rs 1 lac.

Ergonomics:

With its styling cues, it can even give tough competition to Honda CBR 150 R. Striking appeal gets reflected with the twin headlamps. If the rear end have been redesigned then it would like much more better.Futher,140 rear section tyre that is to be shared from the FZ doesn’t look so good. Introduction of fairing has both positive and negative results. Regarding the positive aspects ,the presence of fairing gives a bike like feel. It doesn’t hamper the movement much. Yet, it shows its negative side too in the tight traffic. The tank gets plastic covering that too of top-notch quality. No vibrations is felt while riding, thus the ergonomics is supreme.

Engine and Performance:

There are mechanical changes are to be found, since the same 153 cc engine delivering the power up to 14 HP has been set up to power the engine. This power production is efficient for city riding that comes up to 60kmph.Smoothness can be spelt in terms of gearshifts. The acceleration that is being produced from 3000 to 6500 rpm is really impressive. The presence of throttle position sensor that varies the ignition timing and helps in providing accurate and precision sparks makes the Yamha Fazer alive. However the power band is found to be narrowed down and still there is an need of more gearshifts .All these lackness results mainly due to the pillion on-board. We got a combined milaege up to 38kmpl.

Handling and Braking:

Comfortness have been provided to a greater extent. With relaxed seating position, good sight and grippy tyres that has been built with medium compound rubber, one can enjoy long rides. One can feel convenient even in the long way traffic. Highway ride is made ease and comfortable than FZ with the monoshock suspension, wide handlebar and the front visor. With wide handlebar one can take smooth curves around the road. Tall front visors will considerably reduce the windblasts at high speeds. A 267 mm disc at the front giving such a spongy feel tends to give the good braking effect. Also the rear drum brake that is sharp has also made its contribution. Attached mudguard seems to user-friendly. Wider grab rails has been gifted with grab rails for a secured and comfortable grip. Previous issues has been solved that can be seen as the kick start addition. The instrument console consits of digital meter displaying information on speed, RPM and fuel level. The twin headlight system with strong reflectors is the best-in-class among the intrinsic features. It will be the A one if it had come with 55 W setup. Tweaks that were missed in the FZ were being added to this Fazer.

Verdict:

Overall, the Fazer FI proves to be best in case of styling cues and ergonomics. Many corrections have been done from the prior feedback got regarding the FZ. Only the sad thing is, about the fuel efficiency and power that was found to be narrowed down. Yamaha Fazer is one of the latest offering from the Japanese two-wheeler maker Yamaha which is designed to offer the latest touring spirit for the riders. The new Fazer provides excellent performance and better mileage on the Indian road conditions. The Yamaha Fazer cost is found to be approximately Rs.76,400 which is an affordable bike but good looking.

The Yamaha Fazer has been designed with an excellent external dimensions in terms of its length, width and height. 1) Length – 2075 mm 2) Width – 761 mm 3) Height – 1119 mm The Fazer offers the minimum ground clearance of about 160 mm and wheelbase of about 1334 mm. The total kerb weight of the bike is 141 kg.

Style and Engineering

The Yamaha Fazer looks really stylish and gorgeous with new stylish graphics and some other exciting features. The front part of the bike comes with a sporty twin headlight which adopted design and styling like Yamaha DNA in order to give more clear vision at night time. It has an elegant wind protector with carbon pattern which enhances the sporty image and enables better resistance free riding in any condition. The Yamaha Fazer features an innovative, cool and exciting graphics which makes the bike to look more super stylish. The graphics offers the bike a contemporary and a sporty appearance and the new look would definitely make heads turn. The fuel tank of the bike looks very muscular which holds 12 litres of fuel helps to continue with less stoppages during long distance journeys. Moving to the seating arrangements, the bike possess a longer and wider seat which gives more space and a comfortable riding experience. The seat is very long, firm and exclusively designed for the pillion rider. The grab bar not only acts as a backrest but is something the pillion rider can hold on to it if the road is bumpy. The engine of the bike is really awesome giving more mileage and fuel efficiency. The Fazer is fitted with a new chain protector and the main purpose of using this is to avoid fluttery and loose clothing from getting stuck in the chain. Not only the front, the rear is also very nice with a longer and wider rear fender which protects the tire from the mud and water splashes and it gives more protection. The bike has a large diameter front disc brake and monocross suspension along with the widest radial tyres giving more safety to both the rider and pillion.

Yamaha Fazer Engine

The Yamaha Fazer is a good looking bike packed with better performance engine in which it features an Air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve engine giving the displacement of nearly 153.0 cc. This engine produces the maximum power output of 14 PS @ 7500 RPM in combination with the maximum torque of 13.6 NM @ 6000 RPM. The compression ratio of the bike is measured as 9.5:1 and it has both electric and kick start option which is quite good. The Fazer engine is mated with a five speed transmission with wet multiple disc clutch type. The bore and stroke of the bike is nearly 58 mm and 57.9 mm.

Yamaha Fazer Performance

Yamaha Fazer provides a decent acceleration and pickup. The Fazer is expected to generate a healthy mileage of 45 kmpl mileage on highway roads and 36 kmpl in city ride. Yamaha Fazer Mileage is an appreciable one and the top speed offered by the bike is 132 kmph. The five speed manual gears and the constant wet multi plate clutch ensures a smooth ride.

Brakes and Suspension

Fazer comes with sound and dynamic braking and handling features. The bike is designed with a diamond frame type chassis and the bike has disc brake at the front and drum brake at the rear. Likewise, the front suspension is of telescopic type and monocross suspension at the rear which makes the bike to go very smooth and it is easy to handle. The front tire size of the bike is found to be 100/80-17 while the rear tire size is nearly 140/60-R17.
