Volvo XC90 Engine details

The new Volvo XC90 comes in three types of engines namely 3.2 AWD, V8 AWD and D5 AWD. The 3.2 AWD petrol engine is mated with a six speed geartronic transmission which delivers the displacement of about 3192 cc. It has six cylinder, in-line engine with Variable Valve Timing and Variable Intake System produces the maximum power output of 175 KW @ 6200 RPM and maximum torque of 320 NM @ 3200 RPM. The V8 AWD is also the petrol engine providing the displacement of 4414 cc and it comes with a standard six speed geartronic transmission for easy shifting of gears. It has 8 cylinders of in-line engine type generates the net power of 232 KW @ 5850 RPM in coupling with the combination of net torque of 440 NM @ 3900 RPM. The D5 AWD is a diesel engine of displacement 2400 cc which is mated with both six speed geartronic transmission and six speed manual transmission. Along with in-line engine option, the diesel engine is fitted with Common Rail Direct Injection Fuel supply system and it offers the maximum power of 136 KW @ 4000 RPM and maximum torque of 400 NM @ 2750 RPM.

Acceleration and Pick Up

The acceleration and pick up of a car mainly depends on the power, torque and transmission gearbox. The 3.2 AWD petrol engine can be able to accelerate from 0-100 kms in just 9.5 seconds with the maximum speed of 210 kmph. The V8 AWD petrol engine of the car can cross the barrier of 0-100 kms in a short span of 7.3 seconds with the maximum speed of 212 kmph. The last variant D5 AWD diesel engine can touch from 0-100 kmph in just 11.5 seconds with the top speed of 208 kmph.

Mileage of Volvo XC90

The 3.2 AWD petrol engine of the Volvo XC90 provides a mileage of 5.9 kmpl in city traffic roads and 8.3 kmpl on highway roads. Another engine named V8 AWD petrol engine offers the mileage of around 5.5 kmpl on the urban roads and 8.8 kmpl on the highways. The final D5 AWD diesel engine delivers the mileage of about 5.7 kmpl in the city roads and 9.9 kmpl on the highways.
