India’s fourth largest two wheeler manufacturer TVS Motors has recently added its new bike into the Indian market known as TVS Phoenix which is the first premium bike. The TVS claims that it would offer better mileage, durability, comfort, simple handling and many more. The TVS Phoenix price is found to be approximately Rs.52,215 but the price may changes according to the regions. The new bike is a tough competitor to its similar other bike such as Bajaj Discover 125 ST and some other bikes.

Design and Style

The TVS Phoenix is considered to be the India’s first premium 125 cc bike with car like premium features which is quite outstanding. The Phoenix looks really aggressive with the bright and radiant halogen headlights providing a crystal clear vision to the riders while riding at night time or even bad weather condition. The bike consists of a fully digital speedometer powered by a perfectly symmetrically single pad which fits with visor and the rest of the headlamp. The Phoenix comes with soft textured grips and soft touch switch gear makes very smooth to handle the bike. The company claims that the new bike is known to be dynamic elegance since the design on the bike is avant-garde fetching the modern with the timeless. The fuel tank of the bike is little bit raised but looks really trendy with a bold signature of dual tone graphics. It has a LED pilot lamps for better viewability improves the riding condition at night time. The TVS Phoenix comes with a comfortable seating arrangement of well cushioned seats which offers a luxurious long ride. The plush padded High comfort stitched seating adds more comfort while riding in heavy traffic roads. The rear part of the bike has a petal tail lamp which is another aesthetic highlight of the new Phoenix. The vehicle has been designed with a powerful engine of Eco-Thrust Engine gives a world-class premium riding experience. Overall, the Phoenix is a capable commuter offering decent ride ability and fuel efficiency.

TVS Phoenix Engine Specification

The Phoenix is powered with a revamped Ecothrust Engine which performs really good yielding high power output and torque output. The engine features a 4 stroke, single cylinder and air cooled providing the displacement very close to 124.5 cc. The TVS Phoenix delivers the maximum power output of 11 BHP @ 8000 RPM in combination with the maximum torque of 10.8 NM @ 6000 RPM. It uses a CV carburetor and a paper type air filter element enabling better performance. The engine is mated with a four speed transmission gear box which is very comfortable in shifting gear pattern due to light weighted wet multi plate clutch. Along with that, the bike has a DC Digital TCI Ignition system which is really helpful. The bore and stroke of the bike is measured as 57 mm and 48.8 mm respectively.

TVS Phoenix Performance and Mileage

TVS Phoneix is expected to deliver decent acceleration and pick up. The company claims that the new bike is a fuel efficient bike which offers an attractive mileage of about 67 kmpl. But the Phoenix generates the healthy mileage of around 56.8 kmpl on the city traffic roads and 54.4 kmpl on highways.

Brakes and Handling

The braking and handling is believed to be most alluring feature with excellent brakes and suspensions. The Phoenix comes with drum brakes at both front and rear which offers sudden braking while applying brakes even at high speeds. Likewise, the front suspension is of telescopic oil damped and dual spring shock absorbers in rear. These features enhances the safety and security for both rider and the pillion. The tyre is also very important for a bike and the new bike is fitted with a 2.75 x 17 at the front and 90/90 wide at the rear providing a safety riding experience along with the ability of shorter turning radius. It is easy to handle the TVS Phoenix since it has proper placing of both handle bars and foot rests giving an upright position, light feel and neutral steering of the bike.
