One of the largest four wheeler manufacturer Toyota has planned to debut its luxury commuter named as Hiace at the Auto Expo Event, 2014. It has been designed targeting match of today’s active lifestyles and it is packed with lot of features in order to make the driving more comfortable, stylish and enjoyable. The price of Toyota Hiace is expected to be in the range of Rs.2000000 approximately.
The Hiace is expected to be designed with the length of 5380 mm, width of 1880 mm and height of 2285 mm which will be quite good. The vehicle will offer the wheelbase of around 3110 mm and kerb weight of the car will be 2205 kg.
The seating capacity of the car will be 14 members which is really appreciable and it will give luxurious feel to the travelers with the plush moquette seats. Some of the expected interior features involves bottle and cup holder, centre console box, power control switches etc. offering more comfort and luxury and makes to feel the solace of our own home.
The Toyota Hiace will be powered by a 2.6 litre, DOHC, 4 cylinder petrol engine giving the displacement of 2694 cc. The new MPV will churn out the net power output of 151 HP @ 4800 RPM in combination with the net torque of 241 NM @ 3800 RPM. The engine will be mated to a five speed manual transmission gearbox for easy and smooth transitions.
The new vehicle will be fitted with a rack and pinion power steering. It is expected to have disc brakes at both front and rear for sudden halting of the vehicle in case of any emergency situation.
The Toyota Hiace will be very easy to handle with the suspension system in which the front suspension gets an independent, double wishbone type, upper torsion bar spring, hydraulic dampers, ball-joint mounted anti-roll bar type where as the rear suspension will have a rigid axle, semi-elliptic leaf springs with hydraulic dampers.
For better safety, the Hiace will be fitted with a steel wheel of tire size 195 R15 which is quite good. It will give better road gripness even travelling at high level of speed. The car will have some other safety features including Anti Lock Braking System, LED High Mount Stop Lamp, SRS Airbags, ELR Seatbelts etc.
