Tata Movus Review

One of the largest four wheeler manufacturer Tata Motors has launched its new car known as Tata Movus in order to replace its Sumo Grande Multi Utility Vehicle. The Tata Movus price starts at Rs.6.99 lakh for the base variant. The Movus is available in seven, eight and nine seater configurations having features such as front facing, side facing and captain seat options.

Tata Movus Dimensions

The Tata Movus comes with excellent external dimensions in terms of length, width and height. The length and width of the car is measured as 4421 mm and 1780 mm whereas the height is 1940 mm. The vehicle provides the larger wheelbase of 2550 mm and minimum turning radius of around 5.35 m. Along with that, the ground clearance of the car is about 180 mm. The fuel tank capacity of the vehicle is found to be 65 litres respectively.

Tata Movus Engine Details

The Tata Movus is well equipped with a powerful 2.2 litre engine which churns out the maximum power output of 118.35 BHP and maximum torque output of 25.49 KGM respectively mated to the five speed manual transmission. The vehicle is easy to handle with the help of tiltable power steering system which makes it easy to drive in heavy traffic conditions. The 2.2 L Varicor engine offers good pick up and milage of about 15.16 kmpl and it has an engine warranty of three years or 150,000 kms. Actually the car has been exclusively designed in order to satisfy the needs of driveability, maneuverability and fuel efficiency in both city and highways.

Tata Movus comes with an elegant, comfortable and luxurious features in which the dashboard of the car is of dual tone with fabric finish on the door pads. The seating arrangements of the car is too good with the premium quality soft velvet feel based full fabric along with a back pocket which improves the interiors of the car. The Movus can be available in seven, eight and nine seater configurations having features such as front facing, side facing and captain seat options. It consists of an instrument panel with the central console and switch plate finish done up in a modish faux wood finish. This cluster comes with fabric insterts on the door pads and chrome lined internal door handles which looks so trendy. It has an integrated powerful air conditioning unit with heater and ventilations, rear blowers etc helpful in cooling the cabin with a very short period of time. It has the seating capacity of seven to nine members with ample legroom, head room and shoulder room with plush seats which assures more comfort. The driver seat of the car is of adjustable type and the instrument panel has a few notification lamps including door open warning notification, low fuel warning indicator, seat belt unfastened warning lamp which adds more comfort to the drivers. It offers lot of storage spaces such as glove box, bottle and cup holders, front center arm rest, magazine pockets etc. An adjustable and responsive power steering is provided in the car which makes easy to handle during heavy traffic. Features such as power windows, 3 position lumbar support for the front seats, an arm rest on driver and co-passenger seats, front roof lamp, a middle row lamp, side foot steps, a goggle case, a remote fuel lid opener, tachometer, analog clock on the center console and many more. Along with the adjustable seating arrangements ensuring comfort level, it has been incorporated with a sophisticated music system with input options such as USB port and AUX-in interface along with speakers and remote control. Additionally, it holds a rear wash and wipe function with a rear windscreen demister enhances the viewability. All these features altogether makes the car more practical and exciting vehicle. The top end variant of the car would have all excellent features which definitely impresses the consumers.

Tata Movus Exteriors

Tata has performed its best on the exterior design of the Movus which looks so stylish and gorgeous. With the external measurements, the car offers a roomy, comfortable and spacious cabin. The front fascia of the car looks very bold and aggressive with a broad radiator grille of matte black color with chrome finish. Along with the grille, it comes with a logo of the company which looks very elegant. The front is fitted with a broad, bright and radiant head light with adjustable lamps. The front body coloured bumper holds a large air dam to cool the engine quickly and the bumper has a pair of fog lamps adds more visibility to the driver during bad weather conditions. The side profile of the car is also very trendy with the body colored pull type door handles with external rear view mirrors as well as side turn blinkers. The rear part of the car possesses a wide wind screen with a bright tail lamp cluster. Additionally, it has side and rear foot steps for easy entry and exit, front and rear gate scuff plates, a sump guard, a tail gate etc which further adds beauty to the car. Apart from the other features, it has a rear windscreen with an electric demister, wash and wipe function, door rub rails with a chrome finish adding more stylish appearance to the vehicle and it is mainly helpful in avoiding the minor scratches and damages.

Brakes and Suspensions

The Tata Movus is well equipped with an independent double wishnone with coil springs at the front and parabolic leaf spring type suspension at the rear wheels which can negotiate uneven surfaces with ease. The car has been fitted with disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The combination of disc and drum helps in enhancing the braking efficiency of the vehicle. The tire size of both front and rear comes in 215/75 R15 for better road performance.

Overall, the all new Tata Movus is suitable for large families since it is very spacious, easy to maintain, economical for both short and long distances. The vehicle delivers great value without compromising on comfort. The new Movus is a big and reliable vehicle which comes at a price point offering best-in-class ride quality, making it an ideal partner for every journey. It is expected that the new Movus would be a tough competitor to its similar other cars such as Mahindra Xylo, Chevorlet Tavera, Mahindra Bolero and Ashok Leyland Stile.
