Tata Indigo Manza Review

Tata Motors has launched its awaited car Indigo Manza which is believed to be better than the Honda Amaze in specification and features. It also ensures best in the industry mileage figure and best in class power output. The Manza comes with attractive price ranges and provides best in class space and features.

Engine

The car is available in both diesel and petrol variants. The Manza is fitted with a power packed 1.3 litre diesel mill with 4 cylinders common rail injection on the basis of fuel supply system which offers excellent fuel efficiency. The diesel variant gives the displacement of about 1248cc with the maximum power of 88.8 BHP @ 4000 RPM and maximum torque of 200 NM @ 1750 – 3000 RPM. The diesel variant comes with a smooth and efficient quadrajet engine of c549 – 5+1 speed transmission whereas the petrol variant comes with a 1.4 litre safire engine with 16 valves Multi Point Fuel Injection system which gives the displacement of about 1368cc. The petrol variant delivers the speed of about 88.8 BHP @ 6000 RPM and torque of about 116 NM @ 4750 RPM which is good for the Indian road and traffic conditions.

Acceleration, Mileage and Fuel Economy

The Manza is claimed to offer excellent mileage in which the diesel variant generates a mileage of about 18.6 kmpl in city roads and 21.02 kmpl on highways while the petrol variant generates a mileage of 10.89 kmpl in city roads and 13.07 kmpl on the highways. The petrol variant of the Manza delivers a top speed which ranges between 170 to 175 kmph and it can reach 0-100 kmph within 17-18 seconds. Similarly, the diesel variant of the car generates the maximum speed of about 165 to 170 kmph and it can cross 100 kmph barrier in just 18 seconds.

Design and Comfort

Interiors

The Tata Indigo Manza comes with luxurious and comfortable interiors with well cushioned seats wrapped with the high quality Italian leather upholstery along with overall black and plum interior color scheme. The car is fitted with an internal door handles and gear knobs in finished chrome. It has an adjustable power steering wheel covered in leather along with gear shift lever and the hand brakes. The interiors are very spacious and comfortable which enriches the style and convenience of the passengers. It consists of a bright and decent instrument cluster, wide variety of warning and notification lamps, power outlet in the front and illuminated keyhole ring which helps the driver very much to see in the dark. Additionally, it comprises an internal day and night anti glare rear view mirror, front and rear cabin lights, bottle holder on the front console, adjustable arm rest for the rear seat passengers, head rests for the front seats etc. These interior features of the car makes it remarkable and premium in its other segments. It holds an advanced two din audio system with an integrated MP3 player, FM Radio tuner, audio equalizer. Along with that it has a USB interface with an AUX-In port, a satellite navigation system, Blue 5 technology for pairing the mobile phone, steering mounted audio and phone buttons which gives a comfy and entertainable riding. The Manza is a five seating car which has a sufficiently high cargo space volume of about 460 litres. The Tata Indigo Manza possess a number of unbeatable exterior features which would satisfy the Indian customers definitely. It has an elegant front and the radiator grille with four thin horizontal chrome slats with a thick band finished in chrome along with a large badge of the company. The front body coloured bumper comes with a pair of bright fog lamps with a chrome strip encircling it and air dam with two slats adding cooling for the engine. For preventing minor scratches, the bumper is covered with body coloured rub rails with chrome finished. The rear end of the car has a large wind screen with a rear demister, a pair of fog lamps, a chrome garnish on the license plate fizing slot. The Manza features a smart and trendy external roof mounted antenna which is also looking so neat. The external measurements includes 4413mm length, 1703mm height, 1550mm width, 2520mm wheelbase, 460 litres boot space etc.

Braking, Handling and Safety Features

The Manza comes with a proficient braking mechanism of vaccum assisted independent dual circuit diagonally split with hydraulic brakes via a tandem master cylinder. The car is well equipped with a ventilated disc type front brakes and drum type rear brakes. It has an advanced Anti-Lock Braking System with EBD assuring better and enhanced braking of the car. The front suspension system is of independent lower wishbone with a McPherson strut with coil spring where as the rear suspension system is of semi independent twist beam with coil springs and hydraulic shock absorbers. Apart from the above, it also includes a collapsible power assisted rack and pinion steering for better manoeuvrability and handling, high mounted LED (light emitting diode) stop lamps for improved visibility to the other car drivers, child locks for both the rear doors which adds more security for the children.
