Tata Motors has launched the new Tata Ace Mega pick-up in India. It has been designed to generate maximum revenue for operators. The Ace Mega also features best in class mileage of 18.5 kmpl and operates at a lower cost compared to others in the segment.

The Tata Ace Mega has a pretty generous load area which has a 2140mm length and 1430mm width. It measures 3800mm in length, 1500mm in width and 1861mm in height and a wheelbase of 2100mm. It has a ground clearance of 160mm and a turning circle radius of 4.3mm.

Design and Style

Tata Motors says that the new pick-up truck has a reinforced load body that presents higher load carrying capacity. Coupled with one of the most powerful engines in its class, the Ace Mega will offer quicker turnarounds. It comes with a Comfortable cabin and has lots of leg room space. Its Glovebox comes with lock. It has provision for music system and mobile charging facility. It has Digital clock. Its seats are Fabric seats.

Engine Specification

This new vehicle is powered by the fourth generation 800cc, two cylinder, Dicor diesel engine delivering the power output of 40hp and torque 94Nm paired to a five speed manual gearbox. Talking about the fuel efficiency, it returns an attractive mileage of 18.5 kmpl and the top speed is found to be 90 kmph that enables to hit a best in class. Tata Ace Mega is offered with a rated payload capacity of 1 ton along with a re-inforced load body. It is fitted with good riding wheels with 14 inch tyres and the vehicle provides the ground clearance of 175mm and grade ability of 30 percent.

Braking and Handling

Its braking and suspension are really good. It comes with Dual circuit hydraulically actuated diagonal split with boos brake type. It has disc and drum brakes 200 dia * 30mm with LCRV as front and rear brakes. The transmission type is Synchromesh (5 forward gears), Sliding mesh (Reverse gear) transmission. It has single plate dry friction diaphragm type clutch type. The suspension is also good where the front suspension is parabolic leaf spring with Anti roll bar while the rear suspension is Semi- Elliptical Leaf spring with Anti roll bar.
