The price details for the variants are listed below.

Exterior Styling:

Nissan Terrano has been crafted with the head turning styling cues. Through the reception of significant styling changes ,it stands out in the crowd of the Nissan line-up.Especially the changes are made to the sheet metal.Nissan signature chrome front grille runs on the 16-machined alloy wheels, while the mid and base-spec trim is left with only the steel wheels. Also the rear view, the chrome The V-shaped bonnet gets revised and found to be nicely integrated with the Nissan family look grille, that too inspired from the Nissan Pathfinder. While looking at the side profile,it gives you the feel of looking at Renault Duster. But When you notice it keenly, you could find out the difference. Unlike Renault Duster, it gets the rounded door panels that come with a new crease along their length. Nissan Terrano’s B and C pillars are also found to be blackened out, that makes it unique from the Nissan lineup SUV.Further features like 4-pod design headlamps, silver finish roof rail ,rear combination tail lamp, body colored ORVM, chrome exhaust finisher, front skid plate, silver finish door handles, chrome exhaust finisher adds value to the style quotient. Overall, all these design traits tries to inject the premium into the styling.

Interior Design:

Unlike the Renault Duster, the Terrano gets all-beige treatment at the interior portion. It has been built with the sense of premium, that can be seen at the zebra wood design trim. The cabin is too spacious to accommodate three passengers. The driver seat has a provision of 8-way adjustable ability. However, adjustment for the driver’s seat height is found to be absent. The front seat has been arranged in a comfortable manner in a way that the drivers shouldn’t have the feel of inconvenience anymore. There is a presence of door pockets to place magazines at the back of the front seats. The rear seat also comes with the armrests and cup holders.

An interesting cue is that the rear seats are foldable in a way that paves for the storage that stretch your imagination. There is extra boot space at the back of the seat, that is more enough to have a long trip. For safety concerns ,features like dual front airbags, fog lamps ,rear parking sensors, ABS,EBD+BA are being added .The 2-DIN integrated audio along with the Infotainment System comprises of player, aux-in, USB and Bluetooth. Column mounted controls for the audio system is found to be absent. Richly detailed the tilt steering with silver inserts tends to give an up market feel. There is presence of Rear Power Socket for enabling mobile connectivity. Placement of wing-mirror control knob under the hand-brake lever is likely to ruin the aerodynamics design.

Engine and Performance :

The mechanical specifications remain to be the same. The 1.5 litre DCi K9K diesel engine is available in two states of tune-84 bhp and 109 bhp. The K4M 1.6 litre petrol engine is also available that found to be coupled with the five-speed gearbox,to which the 84bhp power train also tends to get mated with it. Whereas, the 109 bhp power engine gets mated with the six-speed manual gearbox.

Both the engines have been engineered with a precision. The diesel motor does put the power down well, and in spite of the initial lag, it spins happily after 1,500rpm and stays that way all the way till 4,000 rpm at sweet spots.Handling of the clutch makes the drivers feel a little bit tiring especially during stop and go traffic. Overtaking the vehicles on the single lane is not a tedious task, as the Nissan Terrano is meant for highway cruising.

The experience on riding the petrol trim is same as that of driving the Renault Duster fast-track.The engine is smooth and revs up well between the range of 2000 and 4000 rpm. Also, the power gets distributed to the rear wheels in a linear fashion. However ,the power tails off once the range comes up to 5000 rpm, The vibration is felt inside the cabin that makes the passengers feel somewhat inconvenience.

Ride and Handling:

Riding dynamics is good and tends to be smooth even while accelerating at high speeds. While caught up at heavy traffic, there won’t be a need in frequently shifting the gear as there is well-spaced ratios. The suspension set-up is too soft to cause a bit body roll. You can feel that the car is under the your control. You don’t’ have the need to slow down your car, even running at high speeds you can easily come across the potholes and rough surfaces. Even during normal driving conditions, the riding tends to be impressive for a high-riding SUV. At 100kph, the engine revs at a lazy 2,150rpm in sixth, but the throws are short and swift, ensuring great shift quality.

Verdict:

For the persons who are looking for a small SUV carried over with Renault Duster driving dynamics but better styled exterior, Nissan Terrano suits the best.

Experience with Nissan Terrano

I purchased a Nissan Terrano which is one of the best SUV in India in terms of its look and style. But I think it is a clone of Renault Duster but Terrano is more muscular and majestic. Nearly five members could take their seat comfortably and the seats are very broad with good thigh support for long drives and seats. Ride quality and suspension is outstanding even in hill roads. Some of the best features for me includes solid build quality, fuel efficiency, air conditioning effect, alloy wheels, ample cabin space, boot space etc. Apart from that, it needs to improve the gear shift quality. Otherwise, Nissan Terrano is suitable for all age people.

Dont Prefer Nissan Terrano

I have decided to buy the Nissan Terrano car for my husband because he was very crazy for an SUV. Actually we have tried to buy Renault Duster but found Terrano better compared to that. But we are not getting clear and detailed information from the Nissan dealer and if we asked anything through phone they wont give any proper response. Nissan should take necessary steps to improve their customers satisfaction. I had never experienced such a worst service. Please dont go for Nissan brand. The vehicle might be just ok for usage but has to improve service center.

Rocking Terrano

I recently purchased a Nissan Terrano which has rugged look and style. I like it mainly for its excellent exterior appearance. The drive is very pretty which is quite good. I felt Terrano is comparitively better than Maruti Suzuki SX4. This compact SUV make us to feel very happy and it is a pleasurable ride with the Terrano. The boot space of the car is very great and it is really a worthable value of money.

Will Beat Renault Duster

I think Nissan Terrano will be better than Renault Duster. The exteriors attracted the people than Duster and it offers a complete finish and premium in terms of look and style. But the interiors are quite different from the Duster with its improved design, plastic quality. Engine performance is good from my initial ride and fuel economy is too too good. If the budget is tight, it is better to go for Duster. Anyway, Nissan Terrano definitely impress the car enthusiast except the price.
