Nissan Sunny AT Review

Nissan, one of the leading manufacturer has launched its new sedan variant Sunny AT with luxurious and comfortable features. The Sunny AT is available at an attractive price range of Rs.8,64,094 in two options. It has a special feature of Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission. The Sunny AT has been designed on the basis of ‘V’ platform similar to Micra.

Engine Details

The Nissan Sunny AT comes with a 1.5 litre, 1498 cc, 4 cylinder powertrain which delivers a maximum power of about 100 PS @ 5600 RPM and a maximum torque of about 134 NM @ 4000 RPM through a five speed Automatic Forward gearbox Xtronic CVT(Continuously Variable Transmission). The Sunny AT does not have a manual gear shift model which is neither tiptronic nor paddle shifters. The CVT helps to maintain a lower ratio for powering up inclines and engine braking while going down. Since the engine of the car ensures greater power, acceleration and performance.

Mileage, Acceleration and Fuel Economy

The Nissan Sunny AT is well known for its excellent mileage, performance and fuel efficiency. The petrol engine of the car generates a mileage of about 15kmpl in the urban roads and 17kmpl on the highways which is quite outstanding. The Sunny AT offers a decent acceleration which gives 175 kmph and it can touch 100kmph speed in just 15.8 seconds. This excellent feature provides drivable engine good low end power, balanced drive as well as smooth revving.

Design and Comfort

Interiors

Nissan Sunny AT is packed with high quality interior and comfort features in which it possess a dual tone dashboard with instrument cluster, automatic/manual AC controls and vents, audio system. It has two big central dials and small dials with rectangular shaped AC vents. The Sunny AT features a spacious interiors with the boot capacity of about 490 litres respectively. The car comprises overhead console box, shift knob, panel box, foot operated parking brake, power windows, rear centre armrest with cup holders, keyless entry system, push button start/stop system, electrically adjustable ORVMs etc. The new sedan has the seating capacity of 5 passengers along with the driver and the driver seat is adjustable. In order to handle the car easily, it features a 3 spoke steering wheel which looks so stylish. The car is integrated with automatic AC with vents for cool cabin atmosphere. It has a CD/MP3 player with four speakers which enhances the comfort and entertainment level. There is an ikey for Sunny assuring one touch door lock and unlock facility with remote boot opening. It possesses a single switch on the door to lock and unlock the doors. Apart from the other, it also includes glove box, fine vision meters, ample legroom, shoulder room, head room, hip room etc. Nissan Sunny AT interior features make very comfy, pleasurable and entertainable riding experience.

Exteriors

The Nissan Sunny AT comes with shining exterior and eye-catching interiors. It looks so aggressive with its larger jewel shaped halogen headlamps, cute smiling chrome grille with slats and company logo, separate fog lamp cluster and lower air intake. The car has a body color rear view mirrors, body color mud flaps, door handles and bumper which offers a sporty car look along with its new style tail lamp cluster and designer slopes. It has a round shaped fog lamp clusters fitted in individual slots and the outline of each panel enhances distinctive look of the car. The Sunny AT is integrated with 14 and 15 inch alloy wheels and steel wheels with tubeless tyres of size 185/70 R14 (steel) and 185/65 R15 (alloy) which ensures better safety. The newly designed tail lamp cluster consists of rear turn indicator and reverse light.

Braking and Handling

The Nissan Sunny AT comes with excellent braking and handling features. The Sunny is fitted with front disc and rear drum brake which is the best combination for sudden stopping of the vehicle. It has a power braking system with Anti-Lock Braking System with Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Brake Assist. The suspension is of very soft in which the front suspension is of McPherson Strut and rear torsion beam suspension with stabilizer bar. This feature offers comfortable driving experience and supporting the rigidity of the chassis.
