Nissan Micra Active Review

Nissan India has rolled out its new low cost version of the Micra car known as Micra Active in an attractive price of Rs.3.5 lakh. It is an affordable car with striking features and good quality. There are four petrol models available for the car and there is no diesel variant for the car. The models are listed below.

1) Nissan Micra Active XE
2) Nissan Micra Active XL
3) Nissan Micra Active XV
4) Nissan Micra Active XV S

The Nissan Micra Active is available in various peppy colours including Brick Red, Storm White, Aqua Green, Turquoise Blue, Onyx Black, Blade Silver etc. The new car is powered by a three cylinder, 12 valve, 1.2L DOHC based petrol engine which offers a displacement of about 1198 cc which can deliver a maximum power of 66.64 BHP @ 5000 RPM and maximum torque of about 104 NM @ 4000 RPM. This engine can touch 0-100 kmph in just 12 to 15 seconds with the maximum speed of 150-160 kmph. It can generate a healthy mileage of about 19.49 kmpl which is quite good.

The Micra Active interiors are good but some of the features are missed while compared with the regular micra. It is a five seating car with decent dashboard, instrument cluster for displaying vital information etc. The seating arrangement of the car is also nice and it gets an “Active Safety Pack” which includes driver and passenger side Supplemental Restraint System airbag. The car provides enough leg room, shoulder room, knee room etc. Its wide seats are wrapped in high quality fabric upholstery giving a wonderful feel for all the occupants. The car holds an advanced air conditioning system with AC vents and controls on it.

The exteriors of Nissan Micra Active looks really sportive with superb front façade as well as grille, stylish headlamps, fog lamps, body coloured bumper etc. These exterior features adds more style while viewing from the front view. The base and mid range variants comes with 13 inch steel wheels wrapped with 155/80 R13 sized radial tyres. The top end variant of the car is equipped with 14 inch steel wheels fitted to its wheel arches and it is packed with 165/70 R15 sized tubeless radial tyres.

The braking system is one of the most important aspect of any vehicle in which the car comes with a ventilated disc brakes at the front while the rear end gets drum brakes for efficient braking. It has an additional advanced antilock braking system along with electronic brake force distribution and brake assist which improves braking. The front axle of the car has a McPherson Strut and the rear axle of the car has torsion beam and the suspension system helps in take car of any sudden jerks.

Moving to the safety, the features includes engine immobilizer, airbags, central door locking with remote keyless entry, power window, child safety lock, halogen headlamp, power steering of tiltable and adjustable, seat belts, wash and wipe for the windscreen. In addition to all, the Nissan Micra Active consists of a few other notification lamps such as driver seat belt warning notification, a door ajar warning indicator, a low fuel warning lamp, a head lamp on warning notification, a key remove warning indicator etc. Overall, Nissan Micra Active comprises decent looking exteriors, reasonable interiors and features along with high performance engine.
