Maruti Ritz Review

Maruti has launched its new limited edition version of its flagship hatchback Ritz packed with several additional features. The new car has been priced in a range of Rs.4.32 to Rs.6.34 Lakh and it comes in both petrol and diesel versions. The twelve additional features of the car includes Advanced Audio System with Bluetooth & USB, Ritz Branded Art Leather Seat Cover, Assistive Rear Parking Sensor, Steering Wheel Cover, Bumper Protector, Stylish Door Sill Guards, Rear Parcel Tray, Stylish Body Graphics, Mud Flaps, 6 Speakers, Door Visors and Floor Mats. Maruti Ritz is a tough competitor to some other cars such as Alto, Wagon R, Swift, Zen and A Star.

Engine of Maruti Ritz

Maruti Ritz has two type of engine options such as petrol and diesel. The petrol version of the car is housed with a 1.2L, K12 series, MPFI, DOHC engine which offers the displacement of about 1197cc which churns out the maximum power of about 83.8 BHP @ 6000 RPM and maximum torque of about 113 NM @ 4500 RPM. Similarly, the diesel engine of the car is equipped with a 1.3L, DDis engine giving the displacement of about 1248 cc which offers the peak power of about 73.9 BHP @ 4000 RPM and peak torque of about 190 NM @ 2000 RPM. Both the engines are mated with a five speed manual transmission gearbox. The DOHC is very powerful, economical by reducing the friction and enhancing the durability of the engine by offering higher torque and clear emission. Similarly, the DDiS engine of the car is fitted with the turbocharger and intercooler combination for delivering higher torque and clear emission.

Acceleration, Mileage and Fuel Economy

Maruti Ritz is believed to offer decent acceleration in which the petrol version engine can cross the barrier of 100 kms in just 14.71 seconds with the maximum speed of about 156 kmph. On the other hand, the diesel version of the car can touch 60 kmph in just 5.9 seconds with the maximum speed of about 163 kmph. Since the petrol engine comes with the BS-IV emission, it generates a mileage of about 14.1 kmpl in the urban roads and 19.1 kmpl on the highway roads whereas the diesel engine with DDis delivers a healthy mileage of about 19.5 kmpl in the city roads and 23.2 kmpl on the highways. With these two peppy engines, Ritz assures best performance, smooth and trouble free driving experience.

Design and Engineering

Interiors of Maruti Ritz

Maruti Ritz has been designed with the mind of providing what the customer needs and he should satisfy what they designed. It is a five seating car with roomy and spacious interiors with enough head room, knee room, leg room, shoulder room etc. With a large number of comfort and advanced features, the car attracts the people. The seating arrangements are really nice with adjustable options as per their need. And the rear seats of the vehicle is of foldable type which gives enough space to keep luggages while travelling for a long journey. The car has been designed with fabric upholstery and it has cabin lights for more shining effect. The dashboard of the car is very decent and it has an instrument panel. The instrument panel has lot of options such as tachometer, digital displayed trip meter, info display clock and temperature etc. It helps for the driver with lot of informations in just a glance. Maruti Ritz is integrated with an audio system with USB, seat back pocket, front seat under tray etc. The audio controls of the car is mounted on the steering with illumination gives the control of audio system which ensures more convenience and entertainment. Without opening the windows of the car, the ORVM in the vehicle is able to change the view and it has power windows in both front and rear. In addition, it has cup holders, ticket holders, console box, remote fuel lid opener, boot lid opener, cigarette ligher and antenna. These interiors are really impressive and exciting.

Maruti Ritz Exteriors

Maruti Ritz looks very dynamic and classy with its undefined exteriors. The awesome exteriors impresses a lot of people in just a single glance. The Ritz is considered to be the trendiest cars comes with crease lines on the sides of the car giving a unique shape to the car looking so stylish and sporty. The company logo is of chrome finished type at the front of the car looks stunning. The car has both front and rear fog lamps which is very easy to drive during bad weather conditions. It has a bright headlamps for clear and excellent visibility and it enables us to adjust for an ideal light beam. The Ritz bumpers are of body coloured and it has an internally adjusted ORVMs. Considering about the wheels, the car comes with 14 inches wheels offering sportive and robust look to the car. The variants such as LXI, VXI, LDI, and VDI are designed in steel wheels where as ZXI & ZDI is available in alloy wheels. The size of the tire is measured as 165/80 R14 for LXI, VXI, LDI, and VDI and 185/70 R14 for ZXI & ZDI. In addition, the car comes with tubeless puncture resistant tire offering comfy ride without any tension of tyres. Since the tyres are of big size, it helps in minimizing the rate of skidding in slippery and watery road. The external measurements includes 3715 mm length, 1680 mm width and 1620 mm height respectively. The wheelbase of the car is measured as 2360 mm and ground clearance of the car is nearly 170 mm which is pretty good.

Braking and Handling

The Maruti Ritz comes with sound and dynamic braking system ensuring safety and security to the passengers and drivers. The car has a ventilated disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear which offers safe in case of emergency braking on the roads. The Ritz has been designed with an Anti Lock Braking System with EBD brake assist helps in avoiding wheel lock up in case of sudden braking. The McPherson Strut with coil spring is available for the front suspension and torsion beam with coil spring is available for rear suspension. Overall, braking and handling is perfect for Indian roads.

Ritz Safety Features

The Ritz is considered to be one of the safe car integrated with many advanced safety features such as ABS with EBD, dual airbags and many more. The airbags provides a cushioning effect in case of collision and jerking as well as reducing the impact of collision. Maruti Ritz is fully integrated with front and rear stylish fog lamps which is quite good for driving under bad weather conditions. In order to prevent car theft, the car has an Intelligent Computerized Anti Theft System which helps in tracking the car. The front ELR seat belt comes with pretensioner reduces the force in case of sudden braking and collision.
