Maruti has introduced its most captivating Multi Purpose Vehicle known as Ertiga equipped with all essential elements. The cost of the new Maruti Ertiga comes with a range between Rs.5.99 – 8.71 lakh respectively. The Ertiga is available in three variants namely petrol, diesel and CNG. The Ertigo is designed with the intention of tempting the urban people and it is a value for money as well as very utilitarian vehicles.

Maruti Ertiga Engine Details

Since the Ertiga is available in both petrol and diesel options, it consists of four cylinder in-line arrangement in both the engines. The petrol variant of the car is powered by a 1.4 L, K series K14B engine with VVT which delivers the maximum power of 93.7 BHP @ 6000 RPM in combination with the maximum torque of 130 NM @ 4000 RPM along with the displacement of 1373 cc. This power packed petrol engine sports a low friction, low NVH and light weight. Similarly, the diesel variant is powered by a 1.3 L Multijet turbo diesel engine with Direct Diesel Injection System which gives a displacement close to 1248 cc. This diesel engine comes with Variable Geometry Turbo ensuring better efficiency and it generates the peak power of 88.7 BHP @ 4000 RPM and peak torque of 202.2 NM @ 1750 RPM. Both petrol and diesel engines are mated with a proficient five speed manual transmission as standard. The new technologies in the engines guarantees maximum fuel consumption, engine performance and lesser emissions thereby increasing acceleration. All the variants of the ertiga is compatible with the new generation BS-IV emission norms which is good not only for fuel efficiency but also helps in emitting lower carbon di-oxide in the environment. In order to reduce vibrations, the engine bay is wrapped with sound-deadening material and hydraulic engine mounts.

Acceleration, Mileage and Fuel Economy

The acceleration of the Ertiga is too good and decent along with the pickup. The petrol variants of Maruti Ertiga can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 15 seconds whereas the diesel variants can cross 0-100 kmph in just 15.5 seconds. The car can attain the maximum speed of about 155 kmph which is quite amazing. The company claims that the mileage delivered by the car is well and good in which the petrol engine generates a mileage of 16.02 kmpl while the diesel engine generates a mileage of about 20.77 kmpl which is pretty good for a MPV. The Ertiga offers a premium interiors and it borrows most of the features from the Swift. The company has designed the car with the ultimate aim of attracting big Indian families those who are looking for an ideal blend of everyday usability and space. The car is fitted mostly with the high quality light weight materials giving the interiors a more luxurious look. The interiors are available in beige color which may be add on quality for the vehicle. The Ertiga has power windows with electrically adjustable mirror and auto down facility on driver side window and it consists of three spoke tiltable, adjustable electric steering wheel which is quite good while driving. The steering of the high end variant comes with an audio controls mounted on it along with the keyless entry and central door locking. The vehicle is bestowed with powerful audio system with 4+2 speakers, USB compatibility. It has an advanced instrument cluster consisting of two trip meters and multi information display for showing all the vital information which is really helpful while driving. Braking and Handling

The braking and handling of the car is good and no need to worry about it for the Ertiga car. The car comes with front ventilated disc brakes and rear drum brakes proves to be very excellent while applying brakes in case of any emergency. Since the car is designed to be aerodynamically it is very easy to handle even in heavy traffic roads. The front axle of the MPV is fitted with an independent MacPherson struts while the rear axle of the MPV is fitted with non-independent, torsion beam. The steering of the car is light weighted and easy to handle. For more stability, the car provides a genuine turning circle radius and less body roll.
