Maruti Eeco Review

Maruti Suzuki has introduced a limited edition Eeco which is dubbed as Maruti Eeco Smiles priced at an affordable cost of Rs.3.32 lakh respectively. The new model does not have mechanical changes but it comes with a plenty of cosmetic changes which looks really outstanding. It is available with the option of CNG kit for excellent fuel efficiency. The cosmetic changes over the new vehicle include wheel covers, mud flaps and smiles stickers on the side profiles and the rear.

Design and Style

Exteriors
The external appearance of the Maruti Eeco is very fresh but they have followed the models of Versa, Omni but give an unique appeal to their design. The front sports a very simple headlamp cluster which is further decorated with a front grille and a large front black colored bumper with twin air intakes. This helps to avoid collision by not affecting the vehicle mechanics directly. The front windscreen gives a clear view for the driver and it has better ventilation since it has wide open windows. Not only has the front, the side profile also offered a decent design in which the vehicle features a wide wheel arches for easy motion of the tyres even in bad road conditions. Its rear view mirrors and door handles are designed in black colors and it is further improved by subtle detailing in the side. The rear has no changes as the regular design rule books with simple tail lamps and a wide windscreen with a big bumper like the front. The feature which improves the authority of the car includes front mud flaps and full wheel covers.

Likewise, the CNG versions are delivering the peak power of 63bhp at 6000rpm and peak torque of 83Nm at 3000rpm. The BS-IV makes the engine to provide excellent performance in terms of power, torque, fuel efficiency. The aluminum engine with multi point injection system enhances the performance of the engine which is mated to a five speed manual transmission system with DSA system.

Maruti Eeco Acceleration and Pick Up

Maruti Eeco performs a great job by providing the maximum speed of around 146kmph which is quite good for the regular commuter segment. It can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 15.7 seconds with the help of BS-IV engine along with Diagonal Shift Assistance technology.

Maruti Eeco Fuel Efficiency

Maruti Eeco is well good for its fuel efficiency by saving fuel with the help of crack and knock sensor. Its petrol variant delivers an attractive mileage of around 15.1kmpl which is totally different from others. On the other hand, the CNG version of the Eeco gives an impressive mileage of approximately 20km/kg with the fuel tank capacity of CNG is 65 litres and 40 litres for petrol variants.

Braking and Handling

Actually, Maruti Eeco has been designed for taking five to seven passengers and even patients for its ambulance variant. The front wheel is fitted with a ventilated disc brakes and the rear wheel has drum brake which offers a sudden stopping of the vehicle even riding at a higher level of speeds. On the other hand, the front axle of Maruti Eeco features a McPherson Strut suspension and the rear axle has a three linked rigid type suspension for comfortable ride and handling. Overall, Maruti Eeco is an ideal car for families with its easy drive on city roads, spacious cabin, excellent fuel efficiency, affordable cost. But the engine performance of the vehicle is not so satisfactory which results in poor acceleration and pick up. Additionally, the safety and comfortable features are really less compared to its segment.
