The company has introduced this car in order to replace the cars such as A Star and Zen Estillo. The vehicle would be considered as a complete value for money. It will be a tough competitor to its similar other cars such as Hyundai Grand i10 and Chevrolet Beat. Maruti Celerio Diesel Exteriors

The diesel version of the Maruti Celerio Diesel looks nothing new compared to its existing petrol variants. Actually the modification has been performed only on the engine and there is no changes done on the external appearance. The front is well decorated with a bold front façade like other hatchbacks. It is well fitted with an aggressive radiator grille which has horizontally positioned slats with chrome accents. On either sides of the grille, the vehicle is equipped with a large headlight clusters powered by halogen lamps. The entry level vehicle has black color grille with chrome finish company logo. The front bumper of the vehicle is of body colored and it comes with a wide air intake section. The higher end variants get the bumper with a pair of fog lamps enhancing the visibility. Seeing from the side profile, the Celerio looks little huge with wider doors. The two expressive lines on the door improves the appearance of the side profile and it has a body colored outside mirrors without turn blinkers. The manufacturer provides the base and mid variants with a set of 13 inch steel wheels with full cover where as the top end variant comes with a set of 14 inch alloy wheels. Moving to the rear section of the car, it looks very trendy with a clear lens tail light with chrome inserts. Maruti Celerio Diesel is powered by a 0.8 litre, two cylinders, engine with a displacement of around 8893cc which has the ability to churn out the maximum power of about 47bhp at 3500rpm along with the maximum torque of about 125Nm at 2000rpm mated to a five speed manual gearbox. It is expected that the manufacturer might offer the diesel version with AMT gearbox within a very short period of time.

Acceleration, Pickup and Mileage

The diesel version of the Celerio is good at acceleration, pick up and fuel efficiency but not amazing. With this powerful engine of the vehicle, it can be able to reach the maximum speed of around 125 kmph which takes nearly 19 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 kmph. Talking about the fuel efficiency, the vehicle returns an impressive mileage of 27.62 kmpl which is quite outstanding.

Braking and Handling

The new hatchback is fitted with the EZ technology drive for easy driving of the car ensuring a hassle free ride while riding in heavy traffic conditions. The Celerio Diesel comes with a disc brakes at front and drum brakes for rear wheels for instant braking action. Along with that, the car has an advanced braking technology known as Antilock Braking System in order to enhance braking action. Similarly, the front is incorporated with a McPherson Strut with coil spring while the rear gets an isolated trailing link with coil springs for simple handling of the car. Besides these, the vehicle is embedded with a power assisted steering system for better handling of the vehicle.

Safety and Security

Safety is not a big problem in Maruti Celerio Diesel since it is packed with lot of exciting safety features. Some of the safety features includes two point rear center seat belt, high mounted third brake light, headlight leveler, disc brake at the front wheels, engine immobilizer, front wiper with washer, ABS, rear window wiper with washer, driver airbag and a rear window demister.
