Exteriors
Mahindra Nuvosport, a sub 4 meter compact SUV is completely designed on the basis of Quanto which in turn was on the basis of Xylo. Anyway, the new vehicle gets its platform with the new Scorpio. The main change has been done on the face which seems to be little bit updated than its predecessors. It attracts everyone with its split headlamps and their daytime running light forms an eyebrow over the main lamps. Its updated bumper adds more style to the vehicle and Mahindra has used matte black appliqués along with a silver skid plate. At the top of the car, it sports a sharp antenna which is good. Moving to the side and the rear, there is no changes found and it remains unchanged. The side profile is enhanced with an updated 16” alloy wheels. The rear ends with bright, fresh tail lamps giving more stylishness to the vehicle.
Interior Features
The 412litres weighed Mahindra Nuvosport looks very similar to the Quanto even in its interior design. The vehicle features a new black and grey color palette which gives a dull appearance. The updations has been performed including a new 6.2 inch touch screen audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, USB and FM support. The vehicle has a Kenwood unit entertainment system which is seen on the Ssangyong Rexton SUV. It is to be noted that the controls for the air conditioning system has been replaced with circular knobs. For this price, the car has an automatic climate control which is really good. It is easy to handle with the steering along with mounted controls which is same as TUV300 and it could be adjusted according to our need. Mahindra Nuvosport is a seven seater car with adequate space for legroom, headroom. It is possible to fold the rear seats and it has jump seats in the third row for kids which are also foldable. This type of comfortable seating arrangement improves long journey and we could be able to keep many luggages needed for the journey. If seats are folded with 60:40 split, it can have 850 litres along with plenty of storage spaces and cup holders near the gear lever, bottle holders in the doorpads around the cabin.
Engine Performance
When it is talking about the engine, the new Nuvosport has the engine similar to TUV300 but it runs with a different specification. It comes with a mHawk 100 badged 1.5 litre, 2 stage turbocharger diesel engine delivering high power of 100bhp at 3750rpm and high torque of 240Nm at 1600rpm paired to a five speed manual transmission. Not only that, the vehicle’s engine has an eco option for better power of 73bhp and torque of 180Nm. The ARAI rated fuel efficiency of the new Nuvosport stands at 17.45kmpl. Its high torque helps to move easily in a heavy traffic areas.
Braking and Handling
Braking and Handling is one of the important segment in which the new vehicle comes with a chassis based on the Scorpio. When it comes to braking, the front has disc brake and rear has drum brake ensuring better braking efficiency. Handling the car is done by an independent double wishbone, coil springs with anti roll bar at the front and five links, coil springs at the rear. It features a power steering of hydraulic power assisted which is quite good.
Safety and Security Features
The Nuvosport gets packed with lot of exciting safety features which includes an advanced braking system Anti Lock Braking System with Electronic Brake Distribution as standard for all the variants but the dual airbags is optional which may vary from one variant to another.
