The pickup segment fight has gone more figures focused like all the other segments in the automobile industry. The times have changed when only see and buy strategy worked for the profit. The customers have gone through a number of features and they expect many of them to be present in their rides. Mahindra has launched its Jeeto Diesel Pick-up by keeping in mind the current requirements of the customers by providing them tailor made pickup trucks which fulfill their needs correctly.

Dimensions

The mini truck has a pretty generous load area which has a 1930mm length and 1400mm width. It measures 3281mm in length, 1485mm in width and 1750mm in height and a wheelbase of 2250mm.

Design and Style

Mahindra Jeeto features a totally new design from the current line of pick-up trucks available in the market. The design gets an enhanced look by the silver stripe differentiating the bumper from the front body of the Jeeto. The bumper comes with a car like approach, with its optional fog light cuts and large air intake. The upper body shares the iconic Mahindra styling that contains a black plastic stripe with the non-chrome XUV like cheetah cuts and a Xylo like headlights with turn indicators. None of the component is exactly the same but clearly shows the mild interference of the styling details. The open deck design has been perfectly made and availability of different sizes makes it a much better option according to the work type of the customer.

The interior of Jeeto never makes you feel that you are at work. The car like comfortable and good looking interior comes with 2 seats, wide and comfortable enough for 2 adults. The gear shifts have been made easy with the dashboard integrated lever in the new Jeeto. It not just increases the space in the seats but also makes it easy for the driver to change gears. The interior has been made clear and comfortable with seat belts for both the seats. The dashboard has been beautifully designed and it would not even let you feel as you are at work. The dashboard integrates a 12v power socket and a beautiful analogue and digital instrument console. It also comes with a glove box.

Engine Specification

The Jeeto comes with 1-cylinder water cooled, 625 cc engine producing 38 NM of torque. Two power outputs are available, which are 11 HP and 16 HP. The customer can choose between the both engines according to his needs and the choosing power does not just end here. Customer has the option to choose between three different deck lengths and 2 different payloads. The Jeeto comes with a 4-speed manual gearbox and returns a company claimed value of 37.6 kmpl.

Variants

The Jeeto pickup comes in three series namely S, L and X series. The S series has two options, both with a deck length of 5.5 feet and payload of 600 kg, the difference being in the engine option of 11 HP and 16 HP only. The L series has a deck length of 6 feet and the option comes here in two engines and two payload capacities. One set (11HP & 16 HP) of engines have 600 kg payload whereas the other set has 700 kg of payload. The X series has 700 kg payload with a 6.5 feet of deck length and two engine options. The naming strategy of Mahindra first lists the series name, in which S has 5.5 feet deck, L has 6 feet deck and X has 6.5 feet deck. 6 or 7 after the series name is for 600 kg or 700 kg and the number after the hyphen (-) is the horsepower.
