Mahindra Alfa Dx

Mahindra Alfa Dx the three-wheeled passenger carrying vehicle. Loaded with a small yet powerful engine and having a rigid basic structure coupled with wonderful suspensions, the Alfa Dx performs exceptionally well with different load conditions and on all types of roads. The pick-up vehicle is offered in three body styles with diesel and CNG fuel options.

It measures 2990mm in length, 1480mm in width and 1905mm in height and a wheelbase of 2005mm. It has a turning radius of 3500mm and a ground clearance of 175mm.

Design and Style

Mahindra Alfa Dx is built to be tough right from its basic structure. The choice of sheet metal and has ensured higher durability and protection from rust. The long wheelbase for the Alfa Dx model has been designed in such a way that there is additional legroom space in the box yet the stability of ride and safety are not compromised. The vehicle comes with a warranty period which further ensures quality of materials used in the build. The cabin of Mahindra Alfa Dx is put together with great care such that the driver neither feels tired nor feels cramped while on long run. Every switch and button is ergonomically placed and they can be operated with ease. There is good back support which makes every ride comfortable The suspensions too are designed for higher stability and greater comfort while travelling on uneven road surfaces. There is enough headroom and legroom to accommodate tall and hefty drivers.

Engine Specification

Mahindra has cautiously developed engines for the Alfa Dx since the vehicle is expected to be powerful, efficient and durable at the same time. There is a single cylinder 436 cc engine which is designed to give out 7.5 bhp @ 3600 rpm and has a maximum torque rating of 18 Nm @ 2000-2400 rpm. Although not as punchy as the diesel mill, the CNG engine is known for its low emissions and higher efficiency. Both the mills get 4-speed constant mesh type gearbox which couples with the powertrain flawlessly to come out with powerful drive. The suspension system comprises of swing arm type unit with coil springs at front and telescopic hydraulic type shock absorbers with rubber springs at rear. Both these units function exceptionally well resulting in better handling and longer durability.

Braking and Handling

The truck gets both front and rear brakes of drum type with leading and trailing shoes. On the other hand, the front suspension is antidive leading link with helical spring and hydraulic shock absorber type and rear suspension is of rubber spring type. It also has a tyre size of about 4.5 x 10", 8 PR which gives a good road grip and easy to handle any type of road conditions.

Security

From the safety perspective, the Alfa Dx scores well in terms of strength and driving stability. The platform is very rigid and is very well designed to give greater firmness in every drive. The brakes too are designed for perfect functionality both in loaded and unloaded condition.

Verdict

Mahindra Alfa Dx comes with good engine specifications, braking and handling system. It gives the users a wide area of legroom space which makes them to be in their comfortable zone.
