Kia Sportage Review
The South Korean four wheeler manufacturer Kia is set to launch its new car christened as Kia Sportage in Indian market which is expected at the upcoming Auto Expo Event, 2014. The new vehicle will be available in three models namely LX, EX and SX and in various attractive color shades. The Kia Sportage is expected to be in the price range between Rs.6 lakh – Rs.9 lakh respectively. The car will give a tough competition to its similar other cars such as Skoda Yeti and Mahindra XUV 500.
The dimensions of Kia Sportage in terms of its length, width and height are displayed below.

Along with that, the car will provide the wheelbase of around 2630 mm and ground clearance of 195 mm. The total kerb weight of the car is found to be 1621 but it will be easy to handle. The fuel tank capacity of the Kia Sportage will be approximately 58 litres. The Kia Sportage will be equipped with a new grille, new wheel designs, HID headlamps and LED rear tail lamps. It will have some comfortable and convenient features which includes power windows, rear wiper, rear defogger, folding rear seat, optional leather seats, steering controls and many more.
The new SUV will be employed by a 1975 cc, DOHC engine which will produced the maximum power output of 142 BHP @ 6000 RPM along with the maximum torque output of 84 NM @ 4500 RPM. The engine of the car will come with a five speed manual gearbox for easy and smooth transitions and it will have an optional Automatic transmission. The bore and stroke of the car will be around 82 mm and 93.5 mm.
The Kia Sportage will have an excellent braking and suspension mechanisms in which the front brake will be disc type where as the rear brake will be drum type. On the other hand, the suspension system will be really good with McPherson Strut Type front suspension and Dual Link Coil rear suspension. This blending of disc and drum brake ensures better braking along with safety. The vehicle will be fitted with a 16” alloy wheel with a tire size of 235/60 R16. The upcoming vehicle may have dual airbags, fog lamps, ABS with EBD and parking sensors for ensuring better safety.
