One of the South Korean manufacturer Kia has decided to showcase their new car called as “Ray” in India at the upcoming event of Auto Expo 2014. The Kia is Hyundai’s sister company which will be available very soon in India. The Kia Ray is expected with a price tag of around Rs.5,00,000 which will be quite affordable.
The Kia Ray will be available with the measurements in terms of its length, width and height which are displayed below.
1) Length – 3595 mm
2) Width – 1595 mm
3) Height – 1700 mm
Along with that, the car will provide the wheelbase of 2520 mm and the kerb weight of the car will be 1185 kg. The upcoming Kia Ray will be packed with lot of exciting features which includes Air Conditioner, Power Windows, ABS, Dual Airbags, Cup Holders, Foldable Rear Seat, Central Locking, Tachometer, Child Safety Locks, Fog lights, Rear Defogger etc. These features will make the car a comfortable and safe car. One of the important feature will be the Vehicle Engine Sound System which will play a recorded sound of an internal combustion engine when the car is riding at speeds up to 20 kmph which can prevent from an-accident.
The Kia Ray will have the design formula of tall boy with a tall, boxy profile which matches with the design of Maruti Wagon R and Hyundai Santro Xing. The new Ray will be powered by a 1.2 litre four cylinder Kappa engine with the displacement of 998 cc. The engine will churn out the maximum power of 105 BHP and it can be able to reach 0-139 km on a single charge which takes just 25 minutes. The engine of the new car will be mated to a five speed gearbox of manual transmission for easy and smooth transitions. With the powerful engine, the car is expected to deliver an impressive mileage of around 130 kmph.
The Kia Ray will be fitted with disc brakes at both front and rear which is quite powerful to stop the vehicle without skidding even in riding at high level of speed. The car gets a McPherson Strut type front suspension and it has a rack and pinion steering type for simple handling.
