Hyundai Santro Xing Review

Hyundai Motors Company has introduced its new hatchback named Santro Xing priced around Rs.3.81 lakh with innovative and stylish body graphics, side profile, interiors and exteriors etc. The engine of the Santro is good and it also assures more comfort and safety features. The car is available in LPG and petrol option where there is no diesel version for Santro Xing.

Hyundai Santro Xing All Models

The Santro Xing car comes in both Petrol and LPG models but diesel option is not available. The petrol version of the car includes

Engine, Mileage and Performance

The Hyundai Santro Xing is well fitted with a 1.1L petrol mill with a SOHC, 4 cylinders which can gives the displacement of about 1086 cc. The peppy engine of Xing is able to deliver the maximum power of 62.01 BHP @ 5500 RPM and maximum torque of 96.1 NM @ 3000 RPM. The engine of the car is very powerful with the active intelligence technologies including a total of three ground braking mechanisms such as RHiA (Rotary Head Intelligent Valve Actuator-power supply), DPiL (Differently Programmed Intelligent Injection-fuel supply) and RTiL (Real Time Intelligent Ignition System-ultra low emissions). The engine of Xing comes with a smooth and an efficient five speed manual gear box transmission. Hyundai Santro Xing is expected to offer the maximum speed of about 141 kmph and it can touch 0-100 kmph in just 16.2 seconds. The petrol engine of the car generates a healthy mileage of 14.45 kmpl on urban roads and 17.92 kmpl on highways. Likewise, the addition of LPG generates a mileage of about 8.44 kmpl to 11.88 kmpl which is good for Indian road conditions. Both the engines are available with BS-IV which is very helpful in lesser emissions.

Design and Engineering

Santro Xing Interiors

Hyundai has designed the interiors very nice in which the Santro Xing can accommodate five members comfortably. It comes with the dual tone dashboard of tone beige and brown colour giving more stylish appearance. The interior of the car features B and C pillar trims, a rear parcel tray to keep things, front and rear speaker grille, an ash tray which is very helpful. A front map lamp is provided mainly for the passengers convenience in the dark and the silver finish central console along with AC vents, cup holders and chrome finished gear shift knob looks more modern and trendy. The front seats are wrapped with beige and brown premium upholstery where as the rear seats fitted with head restraints. The car possess an air conditioner unit with heater which cools the entire cabin of the car very fastly. The tripmeter and an odometer is also available for the convenience of the driver. In order to alert while the fuel is very low and needs to be refilled, a low fuel warning lamp is provided. It holds a power steering, front power windows, a remote fuel lid, a boot lid release, intermittent front wiper and washer etc. The Santro Xing has an adjustable external wing mirrors and a music system to improve the entertainment facility which is quite outstanding. The cabin is very spacious with ample legroom, headroom and knee room for both driver and passengers in which the taller persons can take their seat very comfortable.

Hyundai not only performs their best in interiors but also gives some pretty good exteriors which are very refreshing and charming. The front fascia of the car comes with body coloured front radiator grille with company logo affixed on it. Along with that, the car features a wide and radiant clear lend halogen head lights and side turn blinkers assuring clear and better visibility to the driver during the dark time. The bonnet of the Hyundai Santro Xing is perfectly designed and the body coloured front bumper enriches the beauty of this hatchback. In order to get a clear vision during the rainy season, the car has a tinted front windshield with couple of intermittent wipers of limited speed setting. The side profile of Xing sports a body coloured door handles and outside rear view mirrors. The rear end of the car possess a large wind shield with a bright clear lens tail lamp cluster. The wheelbase of the car is nearly 2380 mm and the minimum turning radius of the car is nearly 4.4 meters.

Braking, Handling and Safety features

The Santro Xing comes with an advanced braking and handling mechanisms in which the front wheels are available with a ventilated disc brake and the rear wheels comes with a self adjusting drum brake which helps in sudden braking or any collision. The car has McPherson strut type with a coil spring front suspension and torsion beam with coil spring rear suspension which gives enough balance to the vehicle even in bad road conditions. The car is loaded with many safety features which includes child safety lock, dual side impact beams for reducing the damages while any crashes occurs, premium seat belts for the front and rear passengers etc. In addition to all, the car has some other safety features such as day and night rear view mirror, keyless entry, an engine immobilizer which ensures more safety and security for all.
