The stunning four wheeler manufacturer Hyundai has launched the all-new Santa Fe SUV in India at the Auto Expo Event, 2014. It has been developed on the basis of an entirely new platform in order to capture the car enthusiasts. The Hyundai Santa Fe 2014 would give a tough competition to its
similar other cars such as Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Ssangyong
Rexton and Chevrolet Captiva. The price of Hyundai Santa Fe 2014 ranges between Rs.26.3 lakhs – Rs.29.25 lakhs depending on the variants.

Hyundai Santa Fe 2014 Dimensions
The Hyundai Santa Fe comes with a striking designs which provides the wheelbase of around 2700 mm. The length of the car gets increased by 40 mm where as the width is increased by 45 mm compared to the existed model. The overall length of the car is measured as 4660 mm and width of the car is 1890 mm where as the height is 1760 mm. The total kerb weight of the car is found to be 1987 kg and the ground clearance is around 200 mm. The fuel tank capacity of the car is approximately 70 litres which is quite good.
Design and Style
The Santa Fe 2014 is available with a premium quality interiors, refined ride, lot of standard features etc. The new car is adopted with the "Storm Edge design philosophy" borrowed from Hyundai's Fluidic design philosophy. As a result, the car looks very European and more sportier than the previous one. The Santa Fe has a 12 way adjustable seats in which it provides three row seating with 40:20:20 split second row seat and 50:50 split for third row seat. The vehicle provides a spacious cabin with enough head room, front room, rear legroom along with a large luggage space of 585 litres. The vehicle is fitted with a dual zone automatic climate control, six airbags, chilled glovebox, sports/comfort/normal mode, Advanced Traction Cornering Control, Down Hill Brake Control system etc. The front of the car comes with a three bar hexagonal front grille incorporated with LED headlights which is quite useful for better vision at night and also it has a daytime running lights and fog lamps.
Hyundai Santa Fe 2014 Engine
The new Santa Fe is employed with a powerful and refined four-cylinder, 2199 cc, 2.2-litre CRDI engine with e-VGT turbocharger which can generate the maximum power of 197 BHP @ 3800 RPM and maximum torque of 42.9 KGM @ 1800 – 2500 RPM respectively.
Fuel Efficiency
The engine has been revised with some minor upgrades in the form of third generation common rail diesel technology with Piezo injector ensuring better fuel efficiency. The engine of the car is mated with both six speed manual and a six speed automatic transmission and it has a two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models on demand. The seven seater vehicle can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 9.4 seconds. The manual transmission variants delivers a healthy mileage of around 14.74 kmpl where as the automatic variants gives 13.01 kmpl.
Brakes and Handling
The company claims that the braking and suspension mechanisms is really powerful in which the front brake is of ventilated disc type where as the rear brake is of solid disc type. On the other hand, the new Hyundai Santa Fe is fitted with a McPherson Strut Type front suspension and Multi Link type rear suspension. The car gets a standard power assisted rack and pinion steering type which is very easy to handle the car. The vehicle is blessed with an 18 inch diamond cut alloy wheel of tire size 235/60 R18 for better road gripness.
I am very proud to have a Hyundai Santa Fe which gives a great, awesome look with its exteriors and it makes everybody to look at it. The vehicle is packed with lot of excellent features which offers more comfortness and luxurious to the travellers. The third row seat can be improved a little bit. The best features includes its strong engine, fuel economy and good gearbox. Comparing to Toyota Fortuner and Mahindra XUV500, Hyundai Santa Fe is better. According to me, it is the best suv for personal use.
I felt Hyundai Santa Fe is very attractive with lot of space, seats and awesome dashboard. There is no noise inside the cabin and air condition works really well. It has a neat sun shade and the rear view mirror at night is the main drawback. As well as the front passenger seat is very low which should have a height adjuster. Moving to the fuel efficiency, it is really good and the pick up is also nice. If the interiors are changed a little bit, then this would be the best choice for that price range.
I am having the vehicle Hyundai Santa Fe which catches all people eye on the road with its awesome headlights and its appearance. The interiors are attractive but it misses some features such as start button, small infotainment screen, gps and front parking sensors. The steering modes enhances the comfortness of the driver. Talking about the engine performance, it is really appreciable with the fuel efficiency of 11.5 kmpl for the first 500 km. While the car cuts the corners, the vehicle is easy to turn every nook and corners. Overall, Hyundai Santa Fe is perfect for Indian roads.
