Hyundai has launched its new crossover i20 Active which is based on the new i20 hatchback. This new car would be a better competitor to its similar other cars such as Fiat Avventura, Volkswagen Cross Polo, Toyota Etios Cross etc. Even though it resembles i20, it has been offered with some modifications over plastic cladding, bumpers, grille, fog lamps, skid plate, roof rails and headlamps. The price of i20 Active is found to be approximately in the range of Rs.6,39,000 - Rs.8,89,000 packed with lot of exciting features.

Hyundai i20 Active offers a sportive appearance with its all round black colored cladding which is really good. The front portion of the car gives an aggressive look comparing to any other car models in Hyundai. It is well fitted with two grille in which the sleek upper grille is integrated with the company’s logo whereas the larger lower grille is wrapped with chrome treatments. Hyundai i20 Active comes with both petrol and engine options in which the petrol variants are offered with a 1.2 litre kappa 5 engine with a displacement very close to 1197cc. The petrol engine consists of four cylinder, sixteen valves using double overhead camshaft based valve which delivers the maximum power output of 81.8bhp at 6000rpm along with the maximum torque output of 114.7Nm at 4000rpm which is mated to a five speed manual transmission gear box. On the other hand, the diesel variant is powered by a 1.4 litre engine with the displacement of 1396cc producing the peak power output of 88.7bhp at 4000rpm in combination with peak torque output of 220Nm at 1500rpm mated to the six speed manual transmission gearbox results in better road performance.

Hyundai i20 Active is good at ground clearance, engine performance, comfortable features and exterior appearance. But it lacks EBD and it offers unsatisfied fuel efficiency along with absence of projector headlamps in some variants. Overall, the i20 Active is really appreciable with little expensive cost.
