Honda CB400 Review

Honda two wheelers has introduced its new bike christened as CB400 into the Indian market with excellent specification and features as well as attractive price tags. The Honda CB400 is designed with the aim of satisfying the commuter in various ways such as to get the people to and from work, small outings and rides on the weekend etc. The bike comes with a sporty and innovative design built with an improved VTEC performance and environmental friendliness. This bike has low weight which is very easy to handle and it gives riding confidence and ability.

Honda CB400 colours

The Honda CB400 comes in three peppy colour schemes namely

1) Graphite Black two tone
2) Candy Red two tone
3) Pearl White two tone

CB400 Dimensions

The bike comes with a good external dimensions in which the length of the bike is measured as 2040 mm, width of the bike is around 725 mm and the total height of the CB400 is nearly 1070 mm respectively. The wheelbase of the Honda CB400 is about 1410 mm where as the ground clearance is 130 mm. The bike consists of a comfortable seating arrangement with the seat height of 755 mm. Along with that, the total kerb weight of the bike is measured as 195 kg and 200 kg for ABS Model.

Design and Engineering

Honda CB400 looks really stylish and gorgeous with extraordinary features. The new bike gets a sharp design with an innovative multi-reflector headlight and LED taillight for better visibility. The bike comes with an armored brake lines and the HID kit is very helpful while riding during night time as well as it has a one-way alarm/mp3 sound system. The Honda CB400 is fitted with a carbon fiber vinyl over side panel and tail. The CB400 sports a VTEC engine which enhances the high-speed fuel consumption, smooth response and an excellent power feel in the high rpm ranges. The body parts of the CB400 makes easy for the rider in order to reach the ground, a grab bar which is really helpful for the comfort of passengers. Engine, Acceleration and Mileage

Honda CB400 is packed with a 399 cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke 16 valve DOHC inline-4 engine along with the six speed transmission ensures smooth gear shifts while riding. This power packed engine churns out the maximum power of 52 BHP @ 9000 RPM in coupling with the maximum torque of 3.9 KGM @ 9500 RPM. The bore and stroke of the bike is measured as 55 mm x 42 mm along with the compression ratio of 11.3:1. The engine comes with the fully transistorized and electronic advanced ignition type. The CB400 possess a PGM-FI electronic fuel injection system assuring better performance and fuel efficiency. The fuel capacity of the bike is nearly 18 litres which is really outstanding. The bike can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 5 seconds with the maximum speed of 115 mph. Apart from the other features, Honda engine comes with Hyper Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control technology which promises to provide low emissions and great fuel economy.

Brakes and Suspensions

Honda CB400 comes with a sound and dynamic braking system which is quite outstanding. The front wheel of the bike has a twin 285 mm floating discs with four-piston Nissin hydraulic calipers for the base model and six-piston calipers for the ABS model while the rear wheel comes with a 235 mm disc with single-piston Nissin hydraulic caliper combined ABS. On the other hand, the front suspension has a 41 mm showa telescopic fork with pre-load adjustment and 118 mm stroke. The rear suspension of the bike has been designed with a twin remote reservoir showa shock with spring pre-load adjustment, 105 mm travel. Moving to the tire size, the front tire of the bike is of 120/60 – 17 inch and the rear tire is of 160/60 – 17 inch.
