Honda BR-V Review
The much awaited Honda BR-V has been launched which was already showcased at the Auto Expo Event 2016 held at Greater Noida which stands for “Bold Runabout Vehicle”. This car looks really premium and tough with its body build design of “Active Solid Motion”. In India, the new vehicle is released with a price tag to be priced between Rs.8.75 Lac – Rs.12.90 Lac and this compact SUV would be a tough competitor car to its similar other cars like Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and others in its segment.

Honda BR-V Exteriors
Based on an ‘Active Solid Motion’ design philosophy, the BR-V gets a solid and tough body built offering a commanding road presence. The design and styling of the new compact SUV has been borrowed from the MPV Mobilio. It comes with an overall length of 4456mm, width of 1735mm and height of 1666mm along with a wheelbase of 2662mm. As well as, the vehicle offers high ground clearance of about 210mm making it compatible for kinds of Indian terrains. Compared to its competitor car, the new BR-V seems to very big and spacious than its rivals. The car is decorated with black projector headlights with LED guide lights, plastic body cladding on the wheel arches, matte silver skid plates, plastic underbody protection and roof rails. Watching the side view, the car looks really very pretty with its character lines, door handles of chrome finish, diamond finish 16 inch alloy wheels covered with 195/60 tyres. It gives a sporty appearance with its LED taillights with C shaped graphics and plastic body protection at the rear which is quite outstanding.

When it is talking about interiors of Honda BR-V, it gets more upgraded compared to the Mobilio and Amaze. This all new interior designs are of premium and materials are of high quality. The cabin has been decorated with a dual tone color combination with its extensive metallic inserts. It has a large dashboard with a host of features such as AC vents, audio-video navigation system with touch screen display and the buttons of the display are placed around it enabling the customers to operate easily. At the right, Honda BR-V is fitted with a three spoke design steering with multi-functional switches. Moving to the seating section, the car can hold three-row seating layout (2+3+2) and the seats are of fine quality fabric upholstery. Honda BR-V Engine Details
Honda BR-V is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant of the car features a 1.5litre i-VTEC engine generating the maximum power output of 117bhp at 6600rpm and maximum torque output of 145Nm at 4600rpm. While, the diesel variant gets a 1.5litre i-DTEC motor producing the high power of 98.6bhp at 3600rpm and high torque of 200Nm at 1750rpm. Both the engines are paired to a new 6-speed Manual and CVT under Honda’s “Earth Dreams Technology”. Honda’s main target is to achieve high fuel efficiency by maximizing the gear ratio range and minimizing the friction and frame weight.
Fuel Efficiency of Honda BR-V
Fuel efficiency of the new BR-V is really good in which the petrol variant of the car gives the mileage of around 15.40 kmpl where as the diesel variant delivers mileage nearly 21.90 kmpl.
Brakes and Suspensions
Honda BR-V is offered with excellent braking and suspension system in which the front has disc brake and drum brakes at the rear for halting of the car. This alternate combination of disc and drum brakes helps to stop the vehicle immediately even in poor road conditions. Likewise, the suspension duties are performed by a McPherson Strut Coil Spring at the front axle and Torsion Beam Coil Spring at the rear for easy handling of the car. The vehicle comes with a tubeless tire of size 195/60 R16 which ensures better road performance.

Verdict
On the whole, a genuine seven seater Honda BR-V offers a pleasurable and comfortable riding experience even for long hours of travelling. However, it lacks some adequate features for its price and the engine performance is little bit bad compared to its competitors.
