Hero Zir, an all new 150cc scooter from Hero MotoCorp is more powerful than the other scooter and it would be a tough competitor to its similar other scooters such as Honda Activa, Suzuki Access, Hero Maestro etc. The new Zir may come with a price range of around Rs.80,000.

Style and Engineering
The Hero Zir is packed with excellent feature which includes dual projector lamps with daytime running lights, bright LED winkers and tail lamp for better visibility during night time riding. It would be available in two variants such as flat floor and European step through style model which is quite outstanding. The scooter has been designed with an integrated pillion handle and it gets a combo of digital – analog console.
The Zir sports a mobile charging socket in which the EFI system can be able to communicate with a smart phone for all Engine/Riding information through the Ride-Stat application. The total weight of the Zir is measured as 139 kg and it provides the ground clearance of about 155 mm. The scooter boasts a front visor/screen which looks very modern and different. It is incorporated with a 12 V-6 aH battery in order to power all the electricals.
Engine Specification and Performance
The new Hero Zir is powered by a 157.1cc, 4 stroke, 2 valves, liquid cooled, OHC engine generating the peak power of 10.5 KW HP @ 8500 RPM in coupling with the peak torque of 12.7 NM @ 7000 RPM. The scooter can deliver the maximum speed of about 110 kmph with a fuel tank capacity of 9 liters respectively. The forced dynamic cooling air system of the scooter helps the engine to be very cool by removing the heat for better performance.
Brakes and Suspensions
The Hero Zir is fitted with an Integrated Hydraulic Braking System with hydraulic disc brakes at both front and rear. The front brake of the scooter comes with a diameter of 225mm while the rear brake is of 220mm. The combination brake or combi brake hydraulic disk brake system of the scooter assures an excellent braking performance with better safety.
It is easy to handle with the front suspension of telescopic shock absorbers and the rear suspension comes with a dual shock absorbers. The Hero Zir features a 110/90R13 tire size at the front and 130/70R13 at the rear and it has tubeless tyres at both sides with cast wheels. These tyres offers better road grip and it reduces the chances of punctures.
