The Indian two wheeler giant Hero Motocorp launched its Xtreme Sports at the Auto Expo Event 2014 at an affordable cost of Rs.75,725. It is available in two variants one with rear drum brake at a cost of Rs.72,625 and other rear disc brake at Rs.75,725 respectively. The college going students are very impressed with 150cc bike which satisfies their needs in terms of both style and performance that would be definitely a tough competitor to its similar other bikes including Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha FZ and Honda CB Unicorn 160.

Design and Style

Hero Xtreme Sports is considered to be one of the good looking and charming bike when it comes to appearance. Hero Xtreme Sports bike gets an Air Cooled, 4 stroke single cylinder OHC engine which produces a displacement of around 149.2cc. This vehicle delivers the maximum power of 15.2bhp at 8500rpm and maximum torque of 13.50Nm at 7000rpm coupled to a five speed gearbox. The engine of the bike gets started with the help of a CV type carburettor with Carburettor controlled Variable Ignition system. Its single cylinder and vertical engine type arrangement assures a promising performance and quick throttle response. The Xtreme Sports is fitted with a wet multiplate type allowing easy gear shifting of the vehicle. This air cooled engine of the vehicle has a bore to stroke ratio of 57.3mm x 57.8mm along with the compression ratio of 10:1. It could be able to deliver an attractive mileage of about 62kmpl.

Braking and Handling

The braking and handling of the Hero Xtreme Sports is really good with disc brake at the front wheels and drum brake at the rear for better braking of the bike. And it is also available with an optional rear disc brake which improves the safety and stability level of the vehicle. For better handling of the vehicle, it is fitted with telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers at the front axle and rectangular swing arm with five step adjustable gas reservoir suspension at the rear. This suspension system proves its excellent performance on roads in an effective manner. The Xtreme Sports has been designed with a 80/100 x 18”-47P front tire and 110/90 x 18”-61P rear tyres which yields a better gripness. This tubeless tyres is really efficient since they do not deflate suddenly in case of a puncture.
