The Hero has re-entered the 150 cc segment with the launch of Hero Xtreme,that gets Unicorn-based engine. Hero Xtreme has been designed mainly with an intention to offer performance oriented bike in the 150cc segment. Apart from this aspect,many more aesthetic changes have been done at the design traits.It also comes loaded with beneficial features. Let’s now discuss all those factors in detail.

ERGONOMICS:

The tall stance and body panel that gets reworked as slimmer and leaner,gives the bike a more handsome look. At the front fascia,dual toned mudguard unit carved out in a stylish manner bears the headlamp above it ,that gets equipped with smartly designed LED parking lights. When it comes with the instrument console,it is said to comprise of speedometer, odometer, tachometer, a fuel-gauge, dual trip meters and a clock. Another interesting cue is all about the smartly designed bike key that gets equipped with the sensor chip.Since the sensor-chipped key is being mated to this bike,no other key can be matched with this bike,thus prevents looting.After the last ride,the key hole that is fitted with blue LED glow is set to blink for 24 hours.Ample view is achieved with the rear view mirrors that is dual tone body colored.Mobile charging point is also being provided under the seat.Also at the rear section,it gets reworked with contemporary LED taillights.A minimal tyre and hollowed out 5-spoke rims provide fresh appeal.

ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE:

No mechanical changes are to be found, since the same engine which tends to power start from the first CBZ Xtreme has been decided to power up this Honda Xtreme. Thus the 4-stroke air-cooled engine with a displacement of 149.2 cc, tends to deliver up to 14.2 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 1.3 kgm at 65,000 rpm. This engine gets mated to 5-speed gearbox enabled with the option of 1-down,4-up shift pattern. With the smooth engine and improved clutch feel, one can ride up to 80kph.The bike moves at the faster rate claiming at the top speed of 112kmph.

RIDING AND HANDLING:

Enriched grip levels are aided with the support of stylish new clip-on handlebars that has conical bar-end weights.The switch gears are also easy to operate. With the well paddled saddle and nicely positioned footrests,one can feel the relaxed riding experience. Upright posture riding gives the confidence of comfort riding around the city.Braking and handling effects are good with the progression at the levers and optional rear discs, especially it works well at the turn around corners. The Xtreme comes with the starting option as Self Start/ Kick Start.

VERDICT:

Hero Motorcorp Xtreme thus comes loaded with powerful engine, up-to-date looks, comfortable ergonomics and attracting features, proves to be decent all-round package arriving at Rs 67,364.Thus the new Hero Xtreme will be a superb bike which will definitely attracts the youths and makes them to purchase.
