The leading two wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp has recently introduced its new better performance oriented bike known as Super Splendor 125. The Hero Super Splendor 125 price starts at Rs.53,735 and it would be a tough competitor to its similar other bikes such as Bajaj Discover 100T, Honda CB Shine and TVS Phoenix. The new Super Splendor 125 is a powerful version of the Splendor in which the Splendor series bikes are well known for its durability, reliability and fuel efficiency.

Design and Style

The Hero Super Splendor 125 bike is one of the daily commuter bike with great looks and style which would definitely impress the young bike enthusiasts. The front appearance of the Super Splendor 125 comes with an effective halogen headlamp of multi reflector type of 35W/35W providing better visibility during the night time riding. It has a stylish rear view mirror helps to see the rear happenings of the road. The handlebar is also very smooth and easy to handle the bike. It comes with an exciting new graphics which is quite outstanding and it is well fitted with a powerful ASFS engine ensuring better performance in terms of fuel efficiency. The bike has been designed with a decent dashboard comprising fuel gauge, trip meter and speedometer in analogue pattern along with neutral indicator and high beam indicator. Along with other basic instruments, it also has side stand indicator which is really useful for the rider to check whether the bike is on side stand. The fuel tank is very wide and aggressive with the fuel tank capacity of 13 litres with reserve of 1 litre. The new decals are placed at the fuel tank giving an elegant appearance to the bike. Hero Super Splendor 125 Engine

The Hero Super Splendor 125 is powered by a powerful engine of 4 stroke, single cylinder OHC, air cooled engine with the displacement very close to 124.7cc mated to the 4 speed wet multi plate clutch type transmission. The bore and stroke of the vehicle is measured as 52.4 mm and 57.8 mm along with the compression ratio of 9.1:1. The powerful engine of the bike churns out the maximum power output of 6.72 KW at 7000 RPM in coupling with the maximum torque of 10.35 NM at 4000 RPM. It is well fitted with an advanced micro processor ignition system for better performance. The vehicle has two options such as kick start and self start which makes easy to start the vehicle according to the riders wish.

Fuel Efficiency of Hero Super Splendor 125

The Hero Super Splendor 125 comes with the new age ASFS engine offering better mileage and performance. It generates an ideal swirling motion of air and fuel mixture inside the combustion chamber for faster and improved burning which extracts the best out of each drop of fuel resulting in better fuel economy and lower emissions. The bike is well known for its durability, reliability and fuel efficiency. It is expected to deliver the fuel economy of more than 55 kmpl which is quite good. The Super Splendor 125 can be able to accelerate from 0-60 kmph in just 7.5 seconds along with the maximum speed of 95 kmph.

Brakes and Suspensions

The brakes and suspensions are really good with an internal expanding type of about 130 mm brakes at both front and rear. On the other hand, the front suspension of the bike comes with a telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers and rear suspension is of swing arm with five step adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers which is easy to handle the bike at type of road condition. Both front and rear wheels are well fitted with a 18” alloy wheels offering better road gripness. In order to enhance the safety, the bike has a maintenance free battery of 12V 3Ah, bright halogen headlamp of 35W/35W and tail lamp of 5W/21W.

Verdict

The new Hero Super Splendor 125 comes with a good ride-ability and utility but its design is very basic and it needs to be upgraded. The Super Splendor 125 should be bought with utility in mind and it is little low performance compared to its similar other bikes such as Glamour, Ignitor which offers an excellent riding experience when it comes to a 125cc bike.
