Hero HF Deluxe is an entry level motorcycle from Hero MotoCorp packed with lot of exciting and thrilling features. It is considered to be one of the best 100cc bikes in its segment with an affordable cost of Rs.42216 respectively. Actually, it was said to be Hero CD Deluxe at its joint venture with Honda and it got its new name HF Deluxe after Hero stopped its joint venture with Honda in 2010. The new Hero HF Deluxe gives a toughest competition to its similar other bikes including Bajaj Discover 100M, Honda Dream Neo and many more.

Style and Designing

Hero HF Deluxe is one of the good looking bike with stylish and attractive features. The new bike sports a trapezoidal multi reflector headlight of 12V-35/35W Halogen bulb offering bright vision while riding at night time. It has a power start option giving a hassle free starting of the vehicle. The HF Deluxe sports an intelligent side stand indicator which is quite useful and it boasts clear mirrors to view the rear happenings on the road. The motorcycle sports a decent stepped up version instrument cluster with analogue speedometer, odometer and basic tail lights along with fuel guage and garnish graphics on the meter panels. The bike is well decorated with an attractive graphics which would be definitely impressed by young bike enthusiasts.

The fuel tank of the bike looks very sportive with a fuel tank capacity of 10.5 liters with reserve capacity of 1.8 liters ensuring better fuel economy. Hero HF Deluxe weighs approximately 109 Kg (Kick) / 112 Kg (Self) since it is available in both Kick and Self start options. In order to enhance the comfortness of the vehicle, Hero has ensured comfortable seating position with cushion type seating arrangement with good knee support and alloy grab rail at rear in which two adults could travel without any hassle on both city and highway roads.

The new HF Deluxe comprises lot of storage spaces such as utility box, side panel, under seat storage space and a bag hook at rear which helps to keep some important things in a safe manner. Apart from other features, the Hero HF Deluxe has been designed with a stylish five spoke grayish alloy wheels with front tire size 2.75x18 – 4PR/42P and rear tire size of 2.75x18 – 6PR/48P along with front and rear rim size of 1.8x1.6 spoke wheel/cast wheel. This could be able to give good road gripness even riding at a higher level of speed. The rear is ended with a stylish tail lamp of 12V-2/21W – MFR and turn signal lamp of 12V-10W x 4 Nos – MFR Clear lens, amber bulb which is quite good.

Actually, the Hero motorcycles are well known for their better performance engine for better power and torque. The Hero HF Deluxe gets a power packed engine which is powered by an air cooled, 4 stroke single cylinder OHC engine developing the displacement of around 97.2cc. The engine churns out the maximum power output of 6.15kw (8.36 Ps) at 8000rpm along with maximum torque output of 0.82Kgm (8.05 Nm) at 5000rpm mated to the four speed constant mesh gearbox with all shift up pattern. The bore and stroke of the vehicle is measured as 50.0mm and 49.5mm along with the compression ratio of 9.9:1.

Acceleration, Pick Up and Mileage

With excellent engine, the performance of the vehicle is really appreciable in which the HF Deluxe can reach 0-60 kmph in just 10 seconds. The Hero HF Deluxe can be able to provide the maximum speed of about 90 kmph which makes it a commendable city ride. Moving to the fuel efficiency, the vehicle returns an impressive mileage of around 65 kmpl in city ride and 74 kmpl in highways. On an average, the bike gives the fuel economy of 68 kmpl.

Brakes and Suspensions

Riding comfort is one of the important aspect for any vehicle and Hero is perfect in this segment. Both front and rear brakes come with an internal expanding shoe type for better halting of the vehicle. The diameter of the front brake is measured as 130mm where as the rear brake is of 110mm. On the other hand, the Hero HF Deluxe is well provided with a telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers front suspension and swing arm with two step adjustable hydraulic shock absorber at the rear for excellent firmness to the overall ride. The rear suspension can be adjusted according to the need of the rider for comfort free ride even carrying heavy loads on the bike. This braking and suspension system ensures excellent safety and security to both rider and pillion.

Verdict

The Hero HF Deluxe is really good for its powerful engine option, excellent mileage and less expensive. But the vehicle lacks in its styling, modern equipments and features which must be improved a little bit in order to impress the middle class bike riders.
