Datsun i2 Review
The budget brand of Nissan Motor Company Datsun will unveil its all-new concept car known as i2 at the upcoming Auto Expo Event 2014. The new car will be built on an entirely new platform and it will be a tough competitor to its future Maruti Alto and Hyundai Eon. The price of Datsun i2 is expected to be in the range of Rs.2-3 lakhs which will be launched soon.
The new concept car will represent a possible direction for the future expansion of Datsun’s model line-up. The concept car is designed by the platform known as Renault’s CMF-A platform. The new compact small car will definitely have their own unique identity.
The Datsun i2 concept car may be equipped with a sub 1.2 litre engine which will be mated with a five speed gearbox and it is expected to offer an ARAI mileage of above 20 kmpl. It has been rumored that the engine of new i2 concept car will come with the displacement of 800 cc engine ensuring better performance in terms of power, torque, mileage and fuel economy. The Datsun i2 will be offered with redefine and affordable motoring, class-leading space, frugal engine, reasonable spares etc.
The i2 will come with a dynamic design, stream lined roofline, a refined daylight opening, a single character line which stretches from the grille to the tail lamps. The front fascia of the car will have a hexagonal grille layout which gives a family feeling. It will be fitted with the sporty wheel arches and rear spoiler adding more sportiveness to the vehicle.
The interiors and exteriors of the new car will be totally different as well as this will not be another badge engineering exercise. The company claims that the new concept car will surely impress the young customers in high growth markets. It is expected to have some features similar to Chevrolet Beat like proportions and the typical Datsun front grille.
