March 31, 2011 - Bajaj Auto Ltd has recently unveiled its new variant christened as “Bajaj Discover 125cc” with an attractive price of Rs 45,500 in Delhi ex-showroom. The Bajaj Discover 125cc is powered by a DTSi (digital twin spark ignition) technology and the company believes that the new variant would satisfy the needs of bike enthusiasts. January 17, 2010 - Bajaj Discover DTS-Si has achieved ‘100cc bike of the year’ award and Most Value for Money bike of the year award during the last year. The Bajaj has received lot of laurels for their continuous launches of its new variants. The Bajaj bikes has acquired excellent response from the consumers for their great features. May 10, 2010 - Bajaj Auto has introduced a new variant of Discover family of motorcycles known as “Bajaj Discover 150cc” along with a tagline of "More Excitement per Litre". Bajaj promised that the new bike is believed to furnish the bike rider with maximum power and fuel efficiency. The Bajaj Discover 150cc has been priced at Rs 46,000 in Delhi ex-showroom. S Sridhar expressed that they are instilling a fresh momentum and adding excitement to the overall Discover portfolio with the new launch.

Bajaj Discover review:

The Bajaj Discover, a motorcycle brand of Bajaj Auto has been designed with lot of attractive and latest features. The Bajaj Discover comes with three variants namely Discover 100, Discover 125, Discover 150. The Bajaj Discover models are provided with various impressive colors. The Bajaj Discover is well equipped with smooth and snatch free engine. This bike is a light weight and provides good handling.

Engine:

The Engine of Bajaj Discover 100cc is 94.38cc, 4-Stroke, Single Cylinder DTS-Si (Dual Twin Spark Swirl Induction) with five speed manual transmission gearbox which supplies a maximum power of 7.7PS @ 7500rpm and maximum torque @ 5000rpm. While, Discover 125cc is powered with a 124.52 air-cooled 4 stroke petrol engine which delivers the power nearly 11 Bhp @ 8000 rpm with the maximum torque of 10.8 Nm @t 6500 rpm. The last series of Discover family (Discover 150cc) also bears a 144.8cc, 4 stroke, single cylinder, natural air cooled, DTS-i engine which gives out a power of 13 PS @ 75,00 rpm and releases a top torque of 12.75 Nm @ 55,00 rpm. In all the variants, Bajaj Discover engine is coated with Black color similar to Bajaj Pulsar.

Design and Comfort:

Bajaj Discover offers a stylish and an elegant look. The Bajaj Discover features includes graphics, racer breed tank along with large tank shrouds and integrated turn indicators which gives a glamarous appearance. It adopts inventive technology for a comfortable, powerful and excellent ridability. The large tank in the Bajaj Discover provides an ability for long and stress free journey on all roads. The Bajaj Discover sports a light weight alloy wheels as well as racing style stripes which fascinates the sports bike freaks. Apart from the above, Discover consists of a sporty headlamp and wider rear tyre which gives out a flashy vision. Bajaj Discover is power packed with lot of exciting features. The Bajaj Discover holds a single cylinder, Air-cooled, Digital LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) console meter console with Speedometer, Tachometer, Fuel Guage and Reserve level indicator for enriching comfort level. The Discover is incorporated with Nitrox suspension, large wheelbase, electric start, LED tail lamp and five speed gearbox. For good performance, Bajaj discover possess a double cradle type rigid frame which also makes comfy to handle. The Bajaj Discover has a flat seat similar to sofa which makes the riders to feel good and comfort. The handlebar in this bike is large and easy to hold. The auto choke present in Bajaj Discover works well in any weather condition.

Mileage and Fuel Economy:

The Bajaj Discover is designed with the fuel efficient engine which contributes good mileage. The innovative DTS-Si technology gurantees an efficient combustion of charge which maintains the overall performance and mileage of the bike. The 100cc variant of the Bajaj Discover delivers a mileage of 90kmpl while Bajaj Discover 125 gives out 82 kmpl mileage. The last variant of the Discover 150cc discharges a mileage of 72kmpl.

Safety and special features:

The Bajaj Discover is well equipped with good safety features. The Bajaj Discover 100cc contains Mechanical Expanding Shoe and Front Drum of 130 mm diameter while the Rear Drum has the diameter of 110 mm. The 125cc version of the Discover is embedded with 240 mm Front Disc and 130 mm Rear Drum. The higher end variant of Bajaj Discover 150cc also consists of 240 mm Front Disc and 130 mm Rear Drum as well as Nitrox absorbers which helps in smooth driving and . The largest wheelbase in this bike supports fine grip on road and comfortable bike balance.

Bajaj Discover colours:

The Bajaj Discover comes with impressive three colour stripes along with black body colour. The bike is painted with black colour while the mask, fuel tank, side and rear panels are painted with Red, blue and green colour stripes. Apart from that, the silencer and kick start is painted in silver colour. The Bajaj Discover Colours are very attractive.

Models:

Bajaj Discover 100:

The 100cc Bajaj Discover is the base variant which is powered by the second generation DTS-Si 2.0 engine. It can can cross 60 kmph mark in just 8.52 seconds and it can reach the top speed of 88.4 kmph. The size of the tyre is measured as 2.75 x 17, 4PR, in front and 3.00 x 17, 6PR in rear. The front suspension is of telescopic while the rear suspension is hydraulic shock absorbers.

Bajaj Discover 125:

This version is loaded with a 125 cc DTS-i engine and appears with various graphics and colours. The 125cc Bajaj Discover specification includes Self Start, Kick Start, Alloy type wheel and many more. It generates good power and mileage. The clutch type is of Wet Multi Plate Type and the front suspension is similar to 100cc while the rear suspension is trailing arm.

Bajaj Discover 150:

The 150 cc is the higher end variant of Discover which features an eye catchy and brave look while comparing to other variants. Discover 150 is having an double cradle type chassis and it has rear Nitrox suspension which is ultimate in this bike. It comes with two dual tone color option such as black with maroon and black with blue.
