The Tata Ace Dicor is the new entrants in the highly competitive Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment. The twin cylinder engine develops 20.1 bhp and 55 Nm of torque and has a company claimed mileage of 22 kmpl. The eagerly anticipated Nano diesel could be powered by the turbocharged version of this motor and that means the power and torque figures will be pumped up significantly along with the fuel economy. It measures 3800mm in length, 1500mm in width and 1845mm in height. The wheelbase and ground clearance are 2100mm and 160mm. It is equipped with hydraulic brake at both front and rear.

Tata Ace Dicor


The Tata Ace was born in 2005 and was designed mostly for the Indian market. With a length of only 3800 mm and a width of 1500 mm, the Tata Ace is the smaller brother of the Super Ace model and is positioned in the same segment with models like the Daihatsu Hijet, Piaggio Porter or Suzuki Carry. Detailed description of the trucks is given below.

Dimensions


The mini truck sits on tiny 13 inch wheels, but it has a pretty generous load area which has a 2140 mm length and 1430 width. It measures 3800mm in length, 1500mm in width and 1861mm in height and a wheelbase of 2100mm. It has a ground clearance of 153mm and turning circle radius of 4.3mm.

Design and Style


Regardless of its minimized measurements, the Tata Ace components a body on casing development which improves its utilitarian character. Braking and Handling


For dealing the generous payloads and harsh terrains, the Tata Ace is equipped with parabolic leaf suspensions at front and semi elliptical leaf spring with anti roll bar suspension at rear. The heavy duty suspensions are combined with hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers. This configuration offers a bumpy ride and you should also be prepared for poor road stability. The good part is that the steering is pretty accurate and rewards you with a proper road feedback.

The Tata Ace Dicor is also surprisingly agile around the city and has a minimum turning circle diameter of 8.6 meters. The stopping power is assured by discs at the front and drums at the rear. The brakes aren’t something to rave about, but you won’t need any stronger performances either, as the engine power is pretty small.

Verdict


It's simple and even reasonable to scrutinize the Tata Ace.
