The German carmaker Volkswagen has launched its much awaited sub compact sedan Ameo in India. Now the new Ameo comes only in petrol variant in three trim options namely Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. It is powered by an efficient 1.2 litre MPI three cylinder petrol engine which is capable of delivering high power of 74bhp and high torque of 110Nm paired to a five speed manual gearbox. Ameo has been designed on the basis of Polo platform featuring a new styling cues along with projector headlamps, fresh front bumper, horizontal fog lamps, revised alloy wheels and an all new rear profile. Along with that, it has cruise control, rain sensing wipers, anti pinch power windows, front arm rest and static cornering light. The cabin looks really good packed with high end features like touchscreen multimedia music system with Mirror link, i-pod connectivity, phonebook/SMS viewer, tilt and telescopic steering wheel and rear AC vents. Some of its safety features available are standard driver and passenger airbags, ABS, rear view camera with parking sensors etc. With all these features packed altogether, the newly launched Ameo would be a tough competitor car in its segment.
