Skoda Rapid, the Volkswagen Vento challenger gets 4 variants that include Active, Ambition Plus, Elegance and Elegance Black Package.The price range starts from Rs 7.22 lakhs to Rs 10.97 lakhs (ex-showroom,Delhi). Major changes are found at the engine part and the gearbox setup. The 1.6 litre engine gets replaced with 1.5 litre TDI diesel engine generating 250 Nm of torque while the power retains the same 103bhp. This diesel engine gets mated to a 7-speed dual clutch DSG. This time, unlike the earlier one,the automatic transmission unit is being provided as an option, whereas the petrol trim gets powered up by the 1.2 TSI engine,churning out the same power and torque figures. The mileage would come up to 21.14 kmpl on manual variant and 21.6 kmpl on the DSG auto model. Apart from its mechanical specifications, there are no mere changes at the styling cues.It comes feature-packed with blackened front grille, tinted headlamps, blacked fog lamp enclosures, black finished 15-inch alloy wheels and black painted rear mirrors.Concerning the safety and comforts, features like Cruise Control, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), reverse parking sensors and dual air-bags have been implemented.
