Scrambler is one of the upcoming brand new 650cc motorcycles of Royal Enfield. The Scrambler 650 is likely to be based on the 650 Twins, the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. Hence the same 648cc air-oil cooled parallel-twin BS6 engine of the 650 Twins motorcycle will power the Scrambler 650 too. This is the most powerful engine of Royal Enfield that churns out 47hp @ 7100rpm of peak power and a peak torque of 52Nm @ 4000rpm. Power to the rear wheels will get transmitted via a 6-speed Manual gearbox. The motorcycle will employ USD forks suspension at the front and twin coil-over shocks at the rear, disc brakes at both the ends, digital spark ignition along with LED head and tail lights, alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, dual-channel ABS system, assist and slipper clutch, clip-on handlebars and so on. In addition to this model, the company is also said to be working on a 400cc engine, which will be tuned to develop 40Nm. The motorcycle is expected to be priced around Rs.3.5 lakhs. Undoubtedly, the Royal Enfield Scrambler will enhance the company's image in the global markets.
