The next gen Mahindra Bolero is codenamed as U301. It will be available in two variants that varies in length. One among them is the sub-4 meter variant that will be powered up by the Quanto's 1.5 litre three-cylinder diesel engine, possessing 3-cylinders and twin turbochargers. Further, this MUV has been designed with an intention that it would be preferable choice for hatchback and sedan buyers. Whereas ,the other variant that is longer than 4 meters has been designed specifically for taxi drivers. Since, the Mahindra Bolero is to be built on hydroformed chassis frame, this MUV will be lighter than before. The design traits are inspired from Mahindra's flagship product,XUV500,the grille that sports out the vertical slat reflects the family look. The highlighting fact is the placement of spare wheel onto the tail-gate like that of the current Bolero. It is expected that the new Bolero would arrive with 7-seater configuration. The price tag would come around Rs.5.5-8 lakhs (ex-showroom).Its rivals are Tata sumo and Chevrolet Tavera. New Bolero’s tall and broad appearance gives us a feel that this MUV should have a good street presence when compared with that of other hatchbacks.
