Freed, the first compact MPV of Honda in India will be launched at the end of 2014. The new Freed will be based on the platform of the next-gen Jazz and it features three rows of seats accommodating seven members. The Freed MPV in other Asian markets features sliding doors which are likely to be replaced with conventional doors in the Indian version. Freed will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The engine options will include an updated version of Honda City’s current 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol motor and all-new 1.4 or 1.6 litre motor of Honda. The MPV will feature best-in-class space and good driving dynamics. The Honda Freed will be a tough competitor to its rival Ertiga after it launch. Other details of the MPV are yet to be revealed.
