Today Ford has officially revealed the production version of Endeavour at Bangkok Motor Show whose sales are expected to be rolled out in the global markets of china,Australia,South Africa,New Zealand and India by 2015.The new-gen model was first showcased as the “Everest concept” in Sydney,Australia.This production-ready model underpin its base with the Ford’s Edge design philosophy,thus one thing is clear that it is going to thrive as a premium product globally.Moreover the company has done its part to enhance it’s off-roading capabilities through the provision of a new ladder frame chassis over which the engine is being built on.For a change,leaf spring setup at the rear has been replaced with a new-independent coil-spring layout for an improved riding dynamics.Another noteworthy inclusion is the deployment of “Terrano Response” four wheel drive system that adjusts traction control, engine torque, four-wheel drive system and other components that will help it delver better off-road performance.The intrinsic features are highly inspired from the Ford’s F-105 pick-up,that Ford’s SYNC2 multimedia setup and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that are found in the F-105 are being added to the new-gen model.On seeing this 2015-Endeavour feature packed with exciting features,it is expected that this would be more upmarket than its predecessors.Regarding the engine options,the new model would get two engine options-a 2.2 2.2-litre 4-cylinder diesel and a 3.2-litre 5-cylinder diesel engine globally while the Indian model will get the the existing 2.5-litre and 3.0-litre diesel units.We might expect the new model to get the 6-speed transmission rather than 5-speed manual gearbox,for cruising performance and enhanced fuel efficiency.The price bracket would fall within the range of Rs20 and Rs25 lakhs.
