Suzuki has exposed the Wagon R 3 rows MPV concept in the 2013 Indonesia International motor show (IIMS).The MPV will be positioned between the Wagon R and Ertiga. It is expected that the seven seater MPV will be launched in India by late 2014 or early 2015.
The Suzuki Wagon R 3 rows MPV concept is a seven seater variant which shares most of the parts with its hatchback sibling. It will share the platform, interior parts as well as the exterior styling. The Suzuki has been developing turbo diesel engines with capacity in the range between 0.8 litre and 1.4 litre. So it is expected that the Wagon R 3 rows MPV will be powered by the same triple cylinder 1.0 litre petrol engine which powers the hatchback sibling. The 1.0 litre engine can produce the maximum power of 67 PS.
Mr.Tuilan, Marketing Director of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales, said “It’s still a concept and no decision has been made”. However, it has been confirmed that if this Wagon R goes into production, it would be a contender for the Indonesian LCGC (Low Cost Green Car) project, thereby availing some tax benefits.”
