Piaggio plans to launch Vespa S automatic scooter on March 4, 2014. It has showcased the Vespa Sport at 2014 Auto Expo. It comes with new design saddles with rectangular shaped headlamp and rear view mirrors. Vespa S will be positioned above the top-end model VX and also the price of Vespa S is Rs.4000 more than the VX model.
The Vespa S gets the 125cc, 3-valve, single cylinder, four stroke and air cooled engine with Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). This power train is already employed in LX125 and also the VX Vespa models. The engine can generate maximum power output of 10.06 HP of maximum power and maximum torque output of 10.06 Nm. It includes single sided hydraulic suspension at the front while the rear gets monoshock suspension at the rear.
The front of the Vespa S gets 200mm disc brake while the rear gets 140mm drum brake at the rear. It gets a new instrument cluster design which includes fuel-gauge, digital-clock and analogue speedometer. It also includes alloy wheels in black shade. It offers four different shades namely, black, white, red and orange. Vespa S will be available at a price of Rs.74, 414. After the launch of Vespa S, the Italian manufacturer will launch Vespa 946 in the country as Completely Built Units (CBU).
