Italian automotive company Piaggio plans to launch Vespa 946 model in the Indian market by the end of this year. It has a very attractive floating seat. It is available with two engines. The 125cc, 3-valve motor can produce 11.7 HP and torque of 10.3 Nm. The 150cc engine develops 13 HP and 12.6 Nm.
Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited (India), chairman and MD, Ravi Chopra said during the launch of Vespa VX in Hyderabad,”Lots of Indians have shown interest in Vespa 946. Once the homologation process is over, which will take around three-to-four months, we will be launching the model in the Indian market”.
He added “We want to bring a range of products under the Vespa brand to India. With the launch of Vespa LX last year, we have created a new premium segment for scooters in the country and have been able to sell around 50,000 units”.
