Piaggio has launched a new LCV called Ape Mini to expand its market share in the segment. Piaggio Ape Mini will co-exist with its sibling – Ape truk. Piaggio which is already a leader in the three wheeler commercial segment now looks at grabbing more market share with these new trucks. Piaggio Ape Mini will take on the likes of Mahindra Gio and soon to be launched Tata Zip. Piaggio Ape Mini is priced Rs1,74,000 (ex-showroom across India). Piaggio says the Ape mini would return a mileage of 29kmpl and sports largest loading cargo deck in its category. Explaining the company’s new initiative, PVPL Chairman and Managing Director Ravi Chopra said, “we have consistently gone to the market with our customers in mind. We are confident that the ape mini will outclass others in the half-tonne four-wheeler segment.
