Hero launches Dash 110cc scooter

Hero today launched yet another scooter called Dash. Dash follows the already popular pleasure and maestro scooters from hero. Much like its cousins, Dash also uses the same honda engine generating a similar power output. Dash produces 8.4PS of peak power and 9.4NM of peak torque. This will directly compete against the Honda activa and newly launched Suzuki lets scooter.

Dash which weighs 110kg of kerb weight runs on 12″ rubber. The external fuel lid is an another convenient feature of dash which has a 6 litre fuel tank. Mobile charging point and seat storage light jazz up the convenience further

Dash comes with host of new features like combi braking system, led tail lights and service indicator (similar to splendor ismart) which tells your next service is due.

Hero Motocorp launches HX250R bike

Hero has finally unleashed the treasure. At the press conference today hero motocorp has showcased some dazzling bikes and scooters which should make the competitors nervous without a doubt. The market leader showcased a 250cc bike (you read it right). Finally a 250cc full faired bike from hero which generates an maximum power of 31bhp at 9000rpm and capable of reaching 60kmph from standstill in just 2.7seconds. HX250R comes fuel injection technology which is mated with a six-speed transmission.

Hero HX250R features telescopic forks suspension at the front and a 5-step adjustable monoshock at the rear. The front uses a three piston calliper with 300 mm disc while the rear uses a 200 mm disc. HX250R features combined braking system with an optional abs.

HX250R rides on 110/80 R17 at the front and 140/70 R17 at the rear. Both are pirelli demon tyres. HX250R also sports LED lights at the front and the rear. Hero HX250R is lengthier by 2085 mm, wider by 735 mm and 1145 mm in height. The wheelbase of HX250R is 1370 mm and the ground clearance is 145 mm

Hero HX250R is powered by in-house hero engine which is speculated to be developed in collaboration with technology partners and EBR. The DOHC engine features 4-valves and is liquid cooled. HX250R also comes with an underseat exhaust like the pulsar 200NS.

Renault to launch Lodgy to take on Toyota Innova

Renault is planning to enter the new segment. The french automaker who rides on the success of duster needs to venture into new segment to realise its dream of reaching 10% market share along with nissan. Lodgy will share the space at the auto expo with koleos facelift, fluence facelift and limited edition duster.Lodgy is sold in seven seater configuration in european markets which makes it a ideal vehicle for India.

Lodgy similar to duster is dacia’s low cost mpv. The 4.5m multi purpose vehicle comes with a petrol engines – 1.6 MPI and 1.2LTCe turbo petrol engine generating 115PS of peak power and 190Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine generating 90 hp and 110 hp 1.5 dCi will also be on offer. Lodgy would help the Renault to penetrate the tough Innova dominated MPV segment. Expect the pricing to undercut the innova as lodgy would share lots of body parts and engine with duster.

Tata Magic facelift-Spy Pictures

Tata plans to unveil the Magic facelift, refreshed model at 2014 Auto Expo. Tata Magic Facelift has been spotted testing in Pune. Tata Magic facelift is built on the same platform of its load carrier Tata Ace. The Magic facelift gets square head lamps instead of the previous rounded head lamps. It will get a new grille at the rear side. It will also include new steering wheel, new dashboard with the optional music system.The spy pictures of Tata Magic facelift are displayed below.

Ford plans upto 2016 revealed

You read it first at vicky.in! The launch plan of american automaker Ford is here. Ford is working on the B562 (internal codename for ‘KA’). The KA was unveiled in Brazil few months back. However what we have unearthed from our closed sources is Ford plans three segment of cars on the ‘KA’ platform – small car which will sit above figo, compact sedan to take on Honda amaze and full size sedan on the likes of fiesta.

What the grapevine also tells us is Ford has shelved the plans to launch the 7-seater Ecosport which many thought eventually it would reach indian shores. To our surprise, Ford has already started working on mid-life facelift of ecosport which suppliers have also confirmed. The facelift won’t be a stickering job or redesigned grille but much more than that. Ford has taken input of ecosport owners and it would lookalike a new generation car. Mouthwatering! but defer your buying process as the launch of facelifted ecosport will happen only in 2016.

Ford is also working on another facelift for figo. Remember with the launch of KA, ford is in no mood to discontinue the figo. Instead the two will co-exist, as ford thinks one car won’t be enough to take the entry level hatchbacks and premium hatchbacks.Lastly don’t forget the new generation endeavour which is CKD unit.

Volkswagen reveals 2014 Polo facelift

Volkswagen has unveiled its 2014 Polo facelift officially. It is the face lifted version of sixth generation VW Polo. The company has done many changes on its exterior side. It is expected to be launched in the month of May. The new 1.5 litre diesel will come only later in this year.

The 2014 Volkswagen Polo will look similar to its previous version except some exterior styling. It will get smart new headlamps with hexagonal LED elements and chrome strip at the bottom of the grille which connects both the headlights. It receives some changes on the rear side such as an all new bumper and tail-lights.

It also receive some changes on its interior side like a new centre console new steering wheel and a new colour display.Volkswagen will offer the Polo with the new range of engines. It is expected to get 3 cylinder petrol and diesel engines. It will get the 1.6 litre diesel from the Vento, turbocharged 1.2 TSI petrol engine is coupled to 7 speed DSG gear box. It is expected to go on sale by later this year.

Hero Motocorp launches splendor ismart

Hero Motocorp splendor ismart has already reached showrooms across India. Splendor ismart features i3S technology (Idle Stop-Start System). The system is very similar to micro hybrid which has already become popular in passenger car industry (Mahindra scorpio and Bolero) to name a few. Splendor ismart produces 7.8 PS of peak power at 7500rpm and 8.04 Nm of peak torque at 4500rpm. Under standard test conditions, splendor ismart returns a mileage of 75kmpl. Compared to splendor pro, splendor ismart comes with a premium of little over two thousan rupees and on road price comes between Rs56000 – Rs58000 (for different cities).

The visual changes of splendor ismart include an aerodynamic front cowl, new textured seats, split grab rail, aluminium foot pegs, service indicator light (which indicates service is due), handle bar weights and stylish instrument console

Honda to launch CBR500R and CBR650F

Honda india’s no 2 bike maker is gearing up for the auto expo. Apart from the much expected 125cc scooter (whose details are kept secret till date), Honda will launch its entry level superbikes CBR500R and CBR650F. Honda is already selling CBR250R in India (though KTM duke 200 spoiled the party).

Honda CBR500R is powered by a 500cc twin cylinder engine generating 47bhp of peak power and 43Nm of peak torque. With a top speed of 180+km/hr and ABS as a safety feature this is the Honda you can boast about. The pricing is expected to be in the range of Rs4-5 lakhs.

Honda CBR650F fully faired bike powered by a 4 cylinder engine developing 87 BHP of max power at 11,000 RPM and 63 Nm of max torque at 8000 RPM. Expect the pricing to be attractive for this CKD.

Ford to unveil global compact car concept at 2014 Auto Expo

Ford plans to unveil its new global product at the upcoming 2014 Auto Expo. The new concept car will be the new small global car from the company. Ford has unveiled this Ka concept at Brazil in last year. Ford expects compact car sales in India to grow from about 1 million units last year to roughly 2 million units in 2018 reflecting the significance of compact car to Indian Customers.

The new small global car is code-named as B562 will use a modified platform of current Figo. The Ford Ka gets 1.5 litre diesel engine as well as 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine which are already employed in Ford Ecosport. It also receives a new grille from the Ecosport. Ford EcoBoost technology can reduce the fuel consumption in 20%. And produce s just 126g of Co2 per Kilometer.

Hero Motocorp to launch Leap hybrid scooter

Hero is all set to launch its new family of products. True to its size, Hero never launches a single products but in bunch. To unleash the new series, hero is starting few days ahead of auto expo. Tomorrow, hero will launch a new scooter and new motorcycle. From the invite we received we could easily guess that the new scooter would be leap hybrid scooter – India’s first hybrid scooter launched at 2012 auto expo.

Leap – the battery and petrol run scooter is made young riders who want to be enviromental friendly. Hero Motocorp build the leap hybrid scooter tapping into the synergy of Hero Electric, a 100 percent subsidiary of Hero Group. Hero leap is said to be returning a mileage of 100kmpl. Leap features disc brakes and long telescopic forks up front. Hero is expected to price the leap scooter sensitively
