Hero new Pleasure reaches dealerships in India

Hero Motocorp had unveiled the new pleasure at the Gurgaon press conference in last year.  Hero has also showcased the updated Pleasure at 2014 Auto Expo.  The company has announced the launch of the updated Pleasure together with the new Xtreme, Karizma ZMR and Karizma R. The new pleasure models already showcased at some dealerships across the country.  The Integrated Braking System (IBS) is the major upgrade to the vehicle.

The new Pleasure is available with two models – special edition and regular model. The new model comes with an all new headlamp and tail lamp design. It features updated instrument cluster, dual tone shade, alloy wheels, side stand indicator and rubber tyres. It also features a mobile charger socket, boot light in luggage box, a lockable glove box and combination ignition lock with seat opening. The new Pleasure gets the same 102cc engine. The engine can generate maximum power output of 6.74 bhp and maximum torque output of 7.85 Nm.

The IBS (Integrated Braking System) is a System which is used to link the front and rear brakes of a scooter. IBS is a new feature in terms of safety which is specially designed by the R&D department of Hero. Hero Motocorp has applied patent for this IBS. The IBS system is different from the Combi –Brake System of Honda. The Combi-Brake system does not work when only the front brake is applied by the user. It is the main difference between the Combi –Brake System and IBS (Integrated Braking System).

Yamaha to launch YZF-R25 on March 25

Yamaha plans to launch the YZF-R25 on 25th of this month. It has already showcased the YZF-R25 concept at the 2014 Auto Expo.  The company has released a teaser video which features design sketch and the Tricity leaning three wheeled scooter. The Sketch in the video looks similar to the YZF-R25 concept.

The sketch gets headlight, taillight and turn indicators which are not present in the R25 concept. The design sketch receives the accessories such as wheels, front disc brake, swing arm and fender as same as in the R25 concept. We can expect the price of R25 in the range between 2.5 lakhs to 3 lakhs.

YZF-R25 concept at 2014 Auto Expo

Yamaha R25 concept measures 2000 mm in length, 720 mm in width and 1140 mm in height. The Yamaha R25 will get a new 250cc, liquid cooled, four stroke, in-line two cylinder, fuel-injected engine. The engine is mated to six speed gearbox. It features tubular frame, large air intake and Akropovic exhaust system. The engine of R25 is expected to produce 28-33 PS of peak power approximately. It can offer the fuel economy of 25-30 kmpl.

Yamaha to recall YZF-R1 for lead coupler defect

Yamaha plans to recall its flagship model YZF-R1 for the defect which is in lead coupler. The company has announced the recall for the bikes which have been manufactured between the period of October 2008 and August 2013. The defect will lead to headlight overheating and melting.  It will cause arcing and potential short circuit.

Yamaha R1 is powered by a 998cc, 4 cylinder, liquid cooled, 4 stroke, 4 valve in-line engine. The engine can generate maximum power output of 180 hp at 12500 rpm. It will produce peak torque of 115.5 Nm at 10000 rpm. The replacement of headlight sub lead will be free of cost.

The Japanese two wheeler manufacturer will replace the headlight sub lead in all of these affected bikes with a modified one. The company says, “Please note that the replacement of the headlight sub lead shall be free of cost. You are requested to avoid operating your YZF-R1 motorcycle until you get the headlight sub lead replaced.”

Yamaha to launch 2014 YZF-R15

Yamaha plans to launch an updated version, 2014 YZF-R15 in the country. The new R15 is the third version which is the famous 150cc motorcycle from the Japanese two wheeler manufacturer.The 2014 R15 gets more technical changes than the cosmetic changes.

The new Fuel Injection system and ECU unit is the major change in the R15 V3. The addition of these two units will improve the power output. It will produce an extra power output of 1 PS than the current model. The engine is expected to produce the same torque output figures. It will offer new tail lamp, exhaust, split seat and clear lens indicators

The V2 version of R15 gets sporty tyres with longer wheelbase while the V3 version may include the same specification or otherwise it will include new tyres. Absolutely, the new R15 bike will include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). It is expected to come with a same price tag, Rs.1.12 lakhs. (Ex-Showroom – Delhi). The upgraded R15 model will be available by April.

Bajaj Discover F150 to get quarter fairing

Bajaj plans to roll out their commuter segment bike, Discover F150 in the country. It has confirmed that it would launch some new Discover models. The new Discover F150 has spotted testing in the country. Bajaj also plans to introduce a naked version of the same Discover F150.

The new Discover F150 will be powered by a new 4-valve, 150cc DTS-i engine. The engine of Discover F150 is expected to produce maximum power output of 14 PS. It will use some parts from the existing Discover and also the Pulsar. It will be available with both electric and kick starter while one of the competitor bike includes electric option only.

Discover F150 will come with long and wide seat option for comfortable riding. It gets frame and cycle parts from the Discover 125ST. It will use the standard front disc brake. It will include monoshock suspension at the rear. The naked version of Discover F150 will be launched later of this year.

Honda Activa 125 – Pictorial Review

Honda plans to launch Activa 125 scooter by April in the country. It has showcased Activa 125 at the 2014 Auto Expo. Honda has revealed the official brochure of this Activa 125 scooter just four days back. Combi brake system, alloy pillion foot rests, new digital speedometer and ample under seat storage option are the highlights of Activa 125.

The Activa 125 measures 1814 mm in length, 704 mm in width and 1151 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1260 mm and 765 mm of seat height as same in the existing model. So the new Activa 125 cc is 53 mm longer and 4 mm taller than the existing model. The Activa 125 cc is 6 mm thinner than the current Activa.

It will be powered by 124.9cc, four stroke, air-cooled petrol engine option with V-matic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).  It can generate maximum power output of 8.6 bhp at 6500 rpm. The engine can deliver a peak torque of 10.12 Nm at 5500 rpm.

The 125cc scooter  gets single halogen headlamp. The instrument cluster of Activa 125 is a mixture of both analog and digital instruments.

It comes with a long and wider seat for comfortable riding. The front of the scooter gets 190 mm optional disc brake. It gets 12” alloy wheels and the tubeless tyres fitted with the size of 90/90 R12. It also includes five spoke alloy wheels. It uses telescopic forks for the front suspension.

At the rear side it gets 10” alloy wheels and the tubeless tyres with the size of 90/100 R10. It gets single shock absorbers for rear suspension. Datsun reveals sketch of Go based Sedan

Datsun has revealed one of the body structures which are to be based on the same platform of its Go. It has already planned to rolls out their Go hatchback which is based on Nissan’s Micra platform. The official launch of Go hatchback will happen on 19th of this month. The Go hatchback is available in three variants with affordable prices. This hatchback will be available with petrol engine option which can deliver the peak power of 68 PS and peak torque of 104 Nm.

Now the company has revealed the sketches of the Sedan. The Go sedan is expected to get longer wheelbase than the hatchback. The Go sedan is likely to measure sub 4 meter in order to get the excise duty cut for small cars. It will include the same front grille as in hatchback.

It is expected to get the same 1.2 litre power train option from its Datsun Go. The 1.2 litre engine will be mated to 5 speed manual transmission.  The interior of the sedan will not get any changes except the addition of rear seats. It will compete with the cars such as Maruti Swift Dzire, Tata Indigo CS and the recently launched Hyundai Xcent.

Hyundai Xcent – Price Details

Hyundai, the South Korean car manufacturer has launched Xcent, compact sedan at a starting price of Rs.4.66 lakh. Xcent is available with three variants like Base, S and SX. This sub 4-metre compact sedan offers six different shades.  Xcent gets both petrol and diesel engine options.

The petrol variant gets 1.2 litre kappa engine which can generate maximum power output of 83 PS and maximum torque output of 114 Nm. While the diesel variant gets 1.1 litre, 3 cylinder power terrain which can churn out the peak power of 73 PS. The both petrol and diesel engine options are mated to 5 speed manual gearbox. The petrol engine is also available with 4 speed automatic gearbox. The both petrol and diesel engine can return an ARAI certified mileage of 19.1 kmpl and 24.4 kmpl respectively.

Pulsar CS400 – Pictorial Review

Bajaj, Pune based manufacturer had showcased their all new Cruiser Sports motorcycle at the 2014 Auto Expo. It had unveiled this Pulsar CS400 as a working prototype but the launch of this bike will happen only in next year.

Pulsar CS400 gets the unique design which offers the stunning look to the bike. The front fairing and headlamp design are derived from Pulsar 200NS. It includes single headlamp which is very sharp and gives sporty look to the bike.

The CS400 includes a flat set handle bar. It gets longer fuel tank and upside down forks for the front suspension.
