Mahindra to launch Mojo 300 by June

Mahindra plans to launch flagship model Mojo 300 in the month of June. The stunning new Mojo was unveiled at 2014 Auto Expo event. The new Mojo has been worked on at all levels from design, styling, engine, performance, ergonomics and technology.

It is powered by 295cc liquid cooled, DOHC four stroke SI engine with 6 speed constant mesh manual transmission. The engine can churn out maximum power output of 27 bhp at 8000 rpm and maximum torque output of 25 Nm at 6500 rpm. The new Mojo measures 2075 mm in length, 805 mm in width and 1260 mm in height. The wheelbase of the bike is 1450 mm while the ground clearance is 160 mm.

It gets halogen twin head lamps and 12V maintenance free battery. It uses 320 mm, 4 pistons radially mounted design front brake and 240 mm, floating caliper design disc brake at the rear. It includes 37 mm inverted fork front suspension and gas charged mono suspension with Internal Floating Piston at the rear. The front gets the tubeless tyre with the size of 110/70-R17 and the rear gets 150/60-R17 tubeless tyre.

Kawasaki updates Ninja 650 with new shade

Kawasaki has updated their Ninja 650R with a new shade. It offers two shades – black and green. It has updated the model which gets green colour. Now the green model gets their shade only in some parts like fuel tank, tail section and front fairing while the remaining parts get matt black. The updated model gets Anti-lock Braking System which is an important update of the bike.

It measures 2110mm in length, 770mm in width and 1180mm in height. The wheelbase of Ninja 650R is 1410mm while the ground clearance is 130mm. It includes 120mm telescopic fork suspension at the front and single offset laydown shock with 7 step adjustable suspension at the rear.

Ninja 650R is powered by 649cc, four stroke, DDHC, 8 valve, parallel twin BS III engine with 6 speed gearbox. The engine can churn out maximum power output of 72.1PS at 8500rpm and maximum torque output of 64Nm at 7500rpm. Braking duty is done by dual 300mm tripe petal disc with two piston calipers at the front and single 220mm petal disc brake with single piston caliper at rear.

Bajaj to launch SS200 by June

Bajaj plans to introduce Pulsar SS200, the lower capacity version of Pulsar SS400 which was unveiled at the Auto Expo. The launch of Pulsar SS200 will happen in the month of June. The Pulsar SS200 has spotted testing at many places in the country. The Pulsar SS200 will be positioned between the Pulsar 200Ns and KTM Duke 200.

Pulsar SS200 is to be powered by a 199.5cc, 4 valve, liquid cooled, single cylinder, Fuel Injected (FI) engine. The engine will be coupled to 6 speed gearbox. It will include disc brake at both front and rear. It will get optional Antilock-Braking System (ABS) and the FI unit which are not present on its Pulsar 200NS.

The front eyebrow graphics of SS200 is totally different from the SS400 and gets the black shade on side of the headlamps. Compact exhaust, twin headlamps, optional ABS, FI unit and digital instrument cluster are the highlights of Pulsar SS200. Pulsar SS200 will get some parts from its sibling Pulsar SS400. It includes the same parts like pointed visor, LED pilot lamps and telescopic shock absorbers. It will be available with more color options including sky blue.

Bajaj to replace Discover 125

Bajaj plans to replace their Discover 125 with the recently launched all new twin spark Discover 125. New Discover 125 measures 1986mm in length, 678mm in width and 1044mm in height. The wheelbase of the bike is 1255mm while the ground clearance is 165mm. The fuel tank capacity of new Discover 125 is 9.5 litre while the usable reserve capacity is 1.6 litre.

The all new Discover 125 is powered by 124.6cc, 4-valve, single-cylinder, DTS-I engine with ExhausTec. The engine is coupled to 4 speed gearbox. It can produce maximum power output of 11.5PS at 8000rpm and maximum torque output of 10.8 Nm at 6000rpm. It can offer a top speed of 100kmph and 76kmpl of overall mileage under CMVR test conditions.

Suspension duty is done with the help of130mm telescopic forks at the front and 110mm nitrox twin suspension at rear. The disc variant uses 200mm disc brake at the front and 130mm drum brake at rear. The drum variant gets 130mm drum brake at both front and rear.

The old Discover 125 is powered by 124.6cc, DTS-I, 4 stroke, natural air cooled engine. This engine can produce the same power and torque output figures as the new Discover 125 engine. New Discover 125 gets the same suspension and brakes from the old model. The fuel tank capacity and the transmission is different between the new and Old discover 125 models. The new Discover gets only 4 speed transmission while the other model gets 5 speed transmission. All new Discover gets fuel tank capacity of 9 litre while the old model gets 8 litre fuel capacity. KTM RC390 and RC125 – Pictures

KTM plans to launch its RC series bikes in the country. So the company has been developing RC series bikes which include RC125, RC200 and RC390. It has been spotted testing at various places. The official images of RC390 already leaked in the web. These bikes are being manufactured at Bajaj Auto’s Chakan factory.

Now the Team Duke facebook page has released the pictures. KTM plans to introduce only the RC390 and RC200. It will not launch the RC125 in the country. Here you can check out the images of RC390 and RC125

RC390, full faired version of Duke 390 and gets the same engine. It is powered by 373.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid cooled engine. The engine is mated to 6 speed transmission. It can able to produce 43bhp of peak power. The kerb weight of RC390 is heavier than the Duke 390. So RC390 is expected to get higher price than its sibling. We can expect the launch of RC390 by mid-2014.

Suzuki Lets – Pictorial Review

Suzuki Lets, 110cc scooter which gets sharp and aerodynamic styling. Lets scooter was unveiled at 2014 Auto Expo event. Suzuki currently has two scooters – Access 125 and Swish. The both scooters are powered by a 125cc engine.  It plans to enter into 110cc segment with this Lets scooter. We can expect the price of Lets scooter is Rs.43,000.

It measures 1805mm in length, 655mm in width and 1120mm in height. The wheelbase of the scooter is 1250mm while the ground clearance is 160mm. The fuel tank capacity of the scooter is 5.2 litre. The weight of the scooter is 98Kg.

It gets 112cc, in-line, single-cylinder, four stroke, air-cooled engine with Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) gearbox. The engine can churn out maximum power output of 8.7bhp at 7500rpm and maximum torque output of 8.92Nm at 6500rpm. It can return an overall mileage of 63kmpl.

The engine uses a new technology, SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance). The SEP technology will lead the engine to provide better fuel efficiency. This technology reduces the mechanical loss of engine in order to improve the mileage. The most parts of the scooter is made with the help of plastic in order to reduce the production cost. It gets a normal instrument cluster.

Suspension duty is done with the help of telescopic forks at the front and mono shock stressed engine suspension at rear. Lets scooter gets 90/100 R10 tubeless tyres with 10 inch steel wheels. It will use 120mm drum brake at both front and rear.

Honda Activa 125 bookings open

Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India (HMSI)  dealers have started accepting bookings for Activa 125. The official launch of Honda Activa 125 will happen by the end of this month. Activa 125 was unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo event by the Japanese two wheeler manufacturer. The booking amount of Activa 125 is Rs.5000. The price of new Activa 125 is Rs.6000 higher than the original Activa which gets 110cc engine. The new Activa 125 offers two variants – Disc and Drum.

The Activa 125 is powered by a 124.5cc, single-cylinder, four stroke, air-cooled engine with V matric Continuously Variable transmission. The engine can churn out peak power of 8.6 bhp at 6500 rpm and peak torque of 10.12 Nm at 5500 rpm.

It measures 1814 mm in length, 704 mm in width and 1151 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1260 mm and 765 mm of seat height as same in the existing model. So the new Activa 125 cc is 53 mm longer and 4 mm taller than the existing model. The Activa 125 cc is 6 mm thinner than the current Activa.

It gets the tyres with the size of 90/90 R12 at the front and 90/100 R10 at the rear side. The disc variant gets 190 mm disc brake while the rear gets 130 mm drum brakes. The drum variant includes 130mm drum brake at both front and rear with optional Combi brake system. The Combi brake system provides shorter braking distance with more stability.. It also get the features like five spoke alloy wheels, under seat storage option and new digital speedo meter.
