Bajaj plans to launch new models of its famous Pulsar Series in order to update their complete Pulsar lineup. The company has been testing on Pulsar 150NS. Bajaj will launch this bike in the upcoming months. The introduction of Pulsar 150NS will happen before the launch of new Pulsar 200SS.

The current Pulsar 150 is powered by an air-cooled, four stroke, DTS-I engine with 5 speed gearbox. The engine can generate maximum power output of 15.06PS at 9000rpm and maximum torque output of 12.5Nm at 6500rpm. The Pulsar 150NS will get an all new 4-valve, liquid cooled engine which is derived from 199.5cc power train of Pulsar 200NS. The engine will be mated to 5 speed transmission. The engine is expected to deliver a peak power of 17PS by using the triple spark technology.

The Pulsar 150NS gets single seat while the Pulsar 200NS owns split seats. It includes the same parts such as wheels, indicators and instrument cluster from the Pulsar 200NS. The bike was spotted with aluminium holder for number plate and split grab rails. The fuel tank of the bike is not similar to the old model and the usual silencer has been replaced by an under-body one like Duke 200, 390, Pulsar 200 NS. The rear of Pulsar 150NS will be very different with the mud guard and will have a mono shock suspension. We can expect the price of Pulsar 150NS at Rs.68,000.

Mahindra plans to launch a new electric scooter, GenZe in US by middle of this year.  GenZe has been developed in Silicon Valley. The scooter was first unveiled in US by last year. The company does not reveal the specification about the scooter.

GeneZe offers large amount of space in the bucket which is located behind the vehicle. It gets weather proof 7 inch touch screen display which is more efficient than ordinary instrument cluster. It provides the data such as distance covered and battery remaining. The user can use the GPS application.

This electric scooter gets space to carry laptop, mobile or any other handheld devices. So the rider can charge the laptop and mobile through USB while riding. It is expected to offer a top speed of 50kmph. The vehicle includes 1.8 bhp motor, replaceable lithium ion integrated power module which comprises of battery pack, controller and charger.

Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), leading manufacturer of premium cars in India, today introduced the ‘Anniversary edition’ of its family sedan Honda Amaze to mark the 1^st Anniversary of the car in the Indian Market.

India Superbike Festival 2014 to be held on May 10 & 11 in Bangalore. Last year, the venue for second edition of India Superbike Festival (ISF) was in Pune at the Amanora Town Center mall. This time the venue for Indian Superbike Festival (ISF) is Phoenix Marketcity, Whitefield which will be the third edition.  In that event the super motorcycles will be showcased by various manufacturers.

Suzuki, BMW, KTM, Aprilia and Motorad were participated in the last year event. The ISF organizers expected that the participation of manufacturers would be high.The motorcycle accessories, spares and other goodies are also to be showcased at the event.

Amol Talpade, one of the organisers of ISF 2014 says, “The idea of the India Superbike Festival is to get bikers together to give them a platform to display what they own. And when you do that, you also meet like-minded individuals and share riding experiences”

TVS has showcased Draken X21 concept bike at the 2014 Auto Expo. The concept bike is fully based on the company’s new design philosophy. The Draken X21, naked street fighter concept gets 249.2cc, 4V, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine with 6 speed gearbox. The engine lies nestled in an exposed aluminium trellis frame.

The engine can churn out peak power of 38.47hp at 12,000rpm and peak torque of 23Nm at 9500rpm.At the front it gets 120/70 R17 pirelli tyres and 160/60 R17 tyres at rear. Suspension duties will be done with the help of 41mm inverted telescopic forks at the front and off-set monoshock, cast-alloy swingarm at the rear. It includes petal type disc brake at the front and rear disc brake with Anti-lock Braking System for perfect braking.

 

Draken includes exhaust with unique design which is also called High performance reverse free flow exhaust. The front of Draken gets full LED head light with day time running lamps. A full function digital instrument console is mounted on the straight handlebar. It features LED tail light and also indicators.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced the recall in order to replace faulty fuel filler neck. The recall will cover 1,03,311 units of Ertiga, Swift and Dzire manufactured between November 12,2013 and February 4,2014. The service campaign will include 42,481 units of Dzire, 47,237 units of Swift and 13,593 units of Ertiga.

The dealers will contact the customers and the replacement of fuel filler neck will be free of cost. The company said in a statement, “The customer is requested to fill in the chassis number (MA3 followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number) on the computer screen. The chassis number is embossed on the vehicle ID plate and is also in the vehicle invoice / registration documents. Customers may also contact the nearest Maruti Suzuki dealer workshop to ascertain if their vehicle is among the above vehicles.”

Last year, the company had recalled the models like Swift, Dzire, Ertiga and A-Star for faulty steering column. The last major recall was done by the company in February 2010. At that time the company had recalled 1lakh units of A-Star in order to replace a faulty fuel pump gasket. It also included the exporting models for that recall.

Hero has unveiled Hastur, aggressive street fighter motorcycle concept at 2014 Auto Expo. It is a tubular naked frame bike fitted with twin exhausts like the KTM Duke 200 and Duke 390. The overall design of the bike gives sporty appearance to the bike. Here you can check out the images of Hastur concept model.

 

Hastur measures 2015mm in length, 820mm in width and 1120mm in height. The overall weight of the bike is 190Kg and minimum ground clearance is 130mm. It can offer a top speed of 240kmph. It can accelerate 0 to100kmph in just 3.8 seconds. The fuel tank capacity of the bike is 15 litre.

It will be powered by 620cc, parallel twin, liquid cooled, four stroke engine with 6 speed manual gearbox. The engine can generate peak power of 78bhp. The power will be transferred from six speed gearbox to rear wheel through an exposed drive chain. It features raised fuel tank, clear lens LED indicators, LED tail lamp, velvet seats for both rider and pavilion. It will also include a trellis frame.

 

Braking will be done with the help of dual disc brake at the front and single disc brake at rear. Suspension duty will be taken care of USD telescopic forks for front suspension and mono shock trellis swing arm for rear suspension. It will come with 10 spoke alloy wheels with Pirelli tyres fitted with the size of 120/70 R17 at the front and 180/50 R17 rear tyres. The overall weight of the bike is 190Kg.

Volkswagen has published the details of extended warranty packages for all models. It offers two packages for extended warranty. Volkswagen offers warranty packages which are based on three different slabs from date of vehicle sale.

• 0 to 365 days
• 366 to 545 days
• 546 to 730 days

All the cars covered by a two year, unlimited kilometer manufacturer warranty. The first package provides extended warranty for 1 year or 80000km while the second package gives extended warranty for 2 years or 1,00,000km.

The price of extended warranty package is lower for the cars sold during first 12 months or 0 to 360 days while it is the highest for the cars sold in 546 to 730 days. The service tax  at 12.36%  will be charged additionally. The company also offers three year warranty of paint work defects and 12 years warranty for anti-corrosion.

Toyota has announced a special service campaign for Innova cars in India.  It plans to recall their Innova MPV which has a problem in spiral cable mounted on the steering wheel.  It will cover 44,989 units of Innova MPV manufactured between the February 2005 to December 2008. The company is currently working to get all the necessary parts in order to replace the faulty parts.

The defective part will lead to continuous illumination of an airbag warning lamp on instrument cluster.  The driver’s airbag may be deactivated. The company will replace the faulty parts at free of cost.  The service will take one hour only.

The customers will be contacted by the Toyota dealers. The company plans to solve this issue on 6.58 million of vehicles globally. This recall will be the biggest one in the global automobile industry. Toyota said in a statement, “The Company is conducting this special service campaign keeping the “Customer First” philosophy in mind in order to avoid inconvenience to customers. The company regrets the inconvenience caused and seeks the customer’s cooperation and understanding during this time”.

Bajaj has introduced three new dual tone shades for Pulsar 220F. The company adds new theme to the bike which gives sporty look to the bike. The new shades are pearl metallic white, sapphire blue and cocktail wine red. Mechanically there are no changes to Pulsar 220F.

It is powered by the same 220cc, 4 stroke, DTS-i, oil cooled, single cylinder engine. The engine can churn out maximum power output of 21.05PS at 8500rpm and maximum torque output of 19.12Nm at 7000rpm.Braking duties are carried out by disc brake at both front and rear. It includes 260mm disc brake at the front while 230mm disc brake at the rear.

Suspension is done with the help of telescopic with anti friction bush at the front and 5 way adjustable nitrox shock absorber at rear. It gets tubeless tyres fitted with the size of 90/90 R17 at the front and 120/80 R17 tubeless tyres at rear. The price of dual shade Pulsar 220F is  Rs.1000 to Rs.1500 more than the current model.
