TVS to launch Scooty Zest by June

TVS plans to launch their Scooty Zest in the country by June of this year. The company has already showcased this new 110cc scooter, Zest at the 2014 Auto Expo. It will come with both electric and kick starter. The Scooty Zest gets long and comfortable seat options.

It is powered by a 109.7cc, air-cooled, single cylinder, carburetor engine with CVTi transmission from Wego. It can develop maximum power output of 8 bhp and maximum torque output of 7.9Nm. TVS has claimed the fuel efficiency of 62kmpl for this Scooty Zest.

It gets telescopic forks for front suspension. It gets the tyres with the size of 90/80 R10. It gets 10” steel wheels It gets the redesigned turn indicators and tail lights. The tail lamps of Scooty Zest get LED type instead of the existing type bulbs. It also gets large and spacious under seat storage option as in Wego.

Chevrolet launches First Anniversary Edition of Enjoy MPV

Chevrolet has launched special edition of their Enjoy MPV in order to celebrate the first anniversary of the vehicle in the country. The company has successfully sold 20,000 units of Enjoy MPV totally since its launch in May 2013.

The first anniversary edition offers accessory package which consists of tail lamps, chrome kit for headlamps and door handle. On the interior side the MPV receives faux wood on the dashboard. It also gets body graphics, roof rails, turn indicators on the ORVMs and chrome license plate garnish.

The Anniversary edition gets the same petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.4 litre petrol engine with 5 speed manual gearbox can generate peak power of 100.2PS at 6000rpm. The 1.3 litre turbocharged diesel engine with 5 speed manual gearbox can deliver maximum power output of 74.8PS at 4000rpm and maximum torque output of 172Nm at 1750rpm.

Honda to recall 31,226 units of Amaze and Brio in India

Honda plans to recall non ABS variants of their Brio hatchback and also the non ABS petrol variants of Amaze Sedan for the faulty brake proportioning values. The recall will cover 15,623 units of Brio and 15,603 units of Amaze manufactured between 28 February 2013 and 16 January 2014.

Proportioning value, a part of braking system which can adjust the brake distribution pressure to the wheels. Proportioning value can reduce the brake fluid pressure to the rear brake. This value is not a part of braking system for ABS variants. So the Non ABS variants are only applicable for this recall.

The company said in a statement, “There is possibility that in some of these cars there is mis-assembly of Proportioning Valve. However no complaint related to this part has been reported. HCIL will voluntarily replace the Proportioning Valve after inspection, if required. The inspection and replacement would be carried out free of cost at HCIL dealerships across India, and the owners will be contacted individually in a phased manner”

TVS launches Star City+ at Rs.44,000

TVS has launched its all new City+ at a price of Rs 44,000 (Ex-Showroom, New Delhi). The company has showcased this bike at the 2014 Auto Expo. The bike was also spotted at various places in the country. The new Star City+ comes with the features like alloy wheels, clear lens indicator, paper air filter and stainless steel muffler guard. It also includes the features like chrome finished handlebar, number plate illuminator. The new Star City+ is available in both kick and electric start.

It is powered by an all new 109.7cc Ecothrust engine with four speed gearbox. The engine can develop maximum peak power of 8.3PS at 5000rpm and peak torque of 8.7Nm at 5000rpm. It can accelerate 0-60 kmph in just 8.1 seconds. It can offer a top speed of 90kmph. The engine can return an overall mileage of 85kmpl.

Braking can be done with the help of 130mm drum brake at the front and 110mm drum brake at rear. It includes telescopic forks suspension at the front while the rear gets five step adjustable shock absorbers. The Star City+ gets an instrument cluster which comprises both analog and digital instruments.

Suzuki Lets to be priced at Rs.47,610 on-road price, Delhi

Suzuki to launch its new 110cc scooter, Lets soon in the country. Suzuki dealers have already started bookings for this scooter. The company has not revealed the prices yet. The Lets scooter will get the on-road price of Rs.47,610 in New Delhi which includes the price of mirror set, floor mat and foot rest.

Lets scooter is powered by 112cc, in-line, single-cylinder, four stroke, air-cooled engine with Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) gearbox. The engine can churn out maximum power output of 8.7bhp at 7500rpm and maximum torque output of 8.92Nm at 6500rpm. It can return an overall mileage of 63kmpl.

The engine uses a new technology, SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance). The SEP technology will lead the engine to provide better fuel efficiency. This technology reduces the mechanical loss of engine in order to improve the mileage. The most parts of the scooter are made with the help of plastic in order to reduce the production cost. It will come with ordinary type instrument cluster.

It measures 1805 mm in length, 655 mm in width and 1120 mm in height. The wheelbase of the scooter is 1250 mm while the ground clearance is 160 mm. The fuel tank capacity of the scooter is 5.2 litre. The weight of the scooter is 98Kg. The suspension duty will be done with the help of telescopic forks at the front and monoshock stressed engine at rear. It gets tubeless tyres with 10” steel wheels. It is available in five shades like Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Sonic Silver, Pearl Mira Red, Metallic Triton Blue and Pearl Mirage White.

Yamaha R25 – production ready version pictures

Yamaha, the Japanese two wheeler manufacturer has showcased R25 concept at 2014 Auto Expo. The R25 concept was first unveiled at the 2013 Tokyo Motor show. The production model pictures leaked on the internet. R25 measures 2000 mm in length, 720 mm in width and 1140 mm in height.

The R25 will be powered by 250cc, parallel twin cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected engine with 6 speed transmission gearbox. Braking can be done with the help of single disc brake at both front and rear.It features tubular frame, large air intake and Akropovic exhaust system. The engine of R25 is expected to produce 28-33 PS of peak power approximately. It can offer the fuel economy of 25-30 kmpl.

Yamaha may launch this motorcycle by the end of this year. It will compete with the bikes like the upcoming Hero HX250R, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Honda CBR250R.We can expect the Yamaha R25 at Rs.2.5 lakhs approximately.

Piaggio may launch Vespa Sprint in India

Piaggio plans to bring 2014 Vespa Sprint, sporty version of Primavera model in India. The Sprint is not a new model which was first introduced in 1965 and discontinued after 11 years by Piaggio. Piaggio has launched this model in Italy and plans to bring the model in India.

It is powered by 125cc, 3 valve engine with electronic fuel injection. The engine can generate peak power of 10.9PS and peak torque of 7.7Nm. It includes 200mm disc brake at the front and 140mm drum brake at rear. It comes with broader tyres with seven spoke 12 inch alloy wheels.

The 2014 Vespa Sprint comes with redesigned trapezoidal shaped headlights, new grab rails and a mixture of analog and digital instruments.  It gets a small wind reflector and new seats. It offers three different shades namely Vintage yellow, blue and red. We can expect the price of Vespa Sprint at Rs.3.83lakhs in the country.

The updated model gets the same 796cc, three cylinder engine with a cable operated 5 speed manual transmission gearbox. The Alto 800 facelift also gets petrol and CNG variants. The engine can generate maximum power output of 48PS and maximum torque output of 69Nm. The company will offer the K10 1.0 litre engine on higher variants.

TVS has launched 2014 version of its popular scooter wego. TVS WEGO now comes with several new features including a fully digital console, tubeless tyres, parking brakes, stylish new muffler and TVS patented econometer. The new TVS WEGO comes with fresh graphics in monotone and new dual tone colours.

TVS claims the new 2014 TVS WEGO is equipped with an improved, noise-free, all-aluminum, low-friction engine which delivers high performance along with superior ride quality and comfort. The Discover 125T engine can generate maximum power output of 12.5PS while the new Discover 125 can deliver peak power output of 11.5PS. Discover 125 T and Discover 125 ST gets 5 speed gearbox but new Discover 125 gets only the 4 speed gearbox. New Discover 125 offers top speed of 100 kmph only while the other models can offer top speed of 105 kmph.
