Hero has launched the updated Super Splendor at Rs.53,735 in India to improve the sales. The updated model receives the changes like new body graphics, new shades and black alloy wheels. Side stand indicator is one of the important updates of this model. If the side stand has not been put up correctly, then the side indicator gives the warning signal to the rider.

Super Splendor measures 1995mm in length, 735mm in width and 1095mm in height. The wheelbase and ground clearance of Super Splendor are 1265mm and 150mm respectively. It is powered by 124.7cc, single cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine with four speed constant mesh gearbox. The engine can deliver peak power of 9.12PS and peak torque of 10.35Nm. The engine can offer a top speed of 90kmph.

Suspension duty is done with the help of telescopic hydraulic shock suspension at the front and 5 step adjustable shock absorbers at rear. The updated Super Splendor is equipped with 130mm drum brake at both the front and rear. It is available in the shades like

TVS plans to launch updated Phoenix model in India. The updated model was already spotted testing at many places in India. Here you can check out the spy shots of the updated Phoenix model which was spotted testing in East Coast Road Chennai.

TVS Phoenix 125 receives the changes like new front bikini with visor, new stylish fuel tank, re worked side and rear panels, new seat, bigger grab rail, new graphics and new upswept exhaust. Mechanically, the updated bike does not receive any changes. Braking can be done with the help of 240mm roto petal disc brake at the front and drum brake at the rear.

It is powered by the same 124.5cc engine with some small changes in order to deliver good outputs. Currently the engine can generate maximum power output of 11PS and maximum torque output of 10.8Nm. The company will launch this updated model soon in the country.

Toyota has announced the launch of New Etios Cross, marking the commencement of sales. This new vehicle was unveiled, in February, at the 12^th Auto Expo, in Greater Noida. The New Etios Cross will further expand the Etios family along with its existing models – Etios & Liva.

Yamaha Ray Z scooter gets the India Design Mark (I Mark) from the Indian Design Council for the year 2014. This prestigious award is the third I Mark award for the company and Yamaha has already received this award for the YZF R15 and Ray scooter.

The product which is nominated to this India Design Mark award must satisfy two requirements out of three. The three requirements are as follows

• Product must be designed in India
• Product must be Sold in India.

Hero has launched its updated Glamour in two trims – regular and FI. The regular model gets carburetor while the FI model gets electronic fuel injection. It is the main difference between the regular and FI models. This 2014 Glamour was already showcased by Hero at the Guragon press conference in last year.

It is powered by 124.8cc, air-cooled, single cylinder engine with four speed constant mesh gearbox. The engine can deliver peak power output of 9.1PS and peak torque output of 10.35Nm. Suspension duty is done with the help of telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers at the front and five step adjustable shock absorbers at rear.

The updated model gets the changes like headlamp, tail lamp and also a visor. It is available in the shades like black, red, silver, black with grey and black with blue. The instrument cluster comprises analog speedometer with digital display. It will compete with the bikes like Bajaj Discover 125M, TVS Phoenix and Honda Shine.

Suzuki plans to update their current models namely Access 125, Swish 125, GS150R and Slingshot Plus. These models will receive the cosmetic changes as well as the mechanical changes. Speaking at the launch of Lets scooter, Atul Gupta, Senior Vice President for marketing and sales told that the company plans to update all the four models – Access 125, Swish 125, GS150R and Slingshot Plus.

It also plans to introduce Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology in all of its next generation models. SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) technology leads the engine to provide better fuel efficiency. SEP technology reduces the mechanical loss of engine in order to improve the mileage.

Currently the Suzuki Access 125 and Swish 125 are powered by 4 stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled OHC engine with CVT transmission gearbox. It can generate peak power of 8.58hp at 7000rpm and peak torque of 9.8Nm at 5000rpm.The GS150R is powered by 149.5cc, air-cooled, four stroke SOHC engine with 6 speed gearbox. This engine can deliver the peak power of 13.8bhp at 8500rpm and 13.4Nm of peak torque at 6000rpm. The Slingshot Plus gets 125cc,single-cylinder engine which can produce 8.8PS of maximum power at 7000rpm.

 

 

 

TVS has confirmed the launch of its first 300cc, single street bike which has been developing with the BMW. The first product from TVS-BMW joint venture will be ready by the second half of 2015. The TVS-BMW partnership will manufacture the bikes under 500cc segment in the country. The bikes from TVS-BMW alliance will be developed at TVS Hosur plant.

The naked street fighter bike is powered by 300cc, 4 stroke, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine. The naked street fighter will compete with the bikes like upcoming Mahindra Mojo 300, Honda CBR300R and Kawasaki Ninja 300. The company has invested Rs. 150 crores for this joint venture. The bikes will be sold by both TVS and BMW independently through their respective channels.

The bikes will be sold under TVS badge in India as well as the other markets of Indian manufacturer, TVS. TVS Motors, Venu Srinivasan, chairman said, “I know we have been silent on TVS and BMW since we had the tie-up. It is going to be ready by the second half of the next calendar year. All the work is under progress”.

Hyundai has launched its 1.0 litre variant of Eon at a price of Rs. 3,83,130. The Hyundai dealers have already started bookings for this new variant of Eon. Today the company has launched this new variant officially in India.

The new 1.0 litre, 3 cylinder engine can develop maximum power of 65bhp and 95Nm of maximum torque. The engine is mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox. The engine can return an ARAI certified mileage of 20.3kmpl. It offers features like immobilizer, power steering, keyless entry, 13-inch steel wheels with covers, front power windows and air-conditioning but this model does not get the audio system.

Suzuki has launched its new 110cc scooter Lets which was unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo already. Lets measures 1805 mm in length, 655 mm in width and 1120 mm in height. The wheelbase of the scooter is 1250 mm while the ground clearance is 160 mm. The fuel tank capacity of the scooter is 5.2 litre and the overall weight of the scooter is 98Kg.

Lets scooter is powered by 112cc, in-line, single-cylinder, four stroke, air-cooled engine with Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) gearbox. The engine can churn out maximum power output of 8.7bhp at 7500rpm and maximum torque output of 8.92Nm at 6500rpm. It can return an overall mileage of 63kmpl.

The engine uses a new technology, SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) which leads the engine to provide better fuel efficiency. This technology reduces the mechanical loss of engine in order to improve the mileage. The most parts of the scooter are made with the help of plastic in order to reduce the production cost. It gets ordinary type instrument cluster.
